Application process
To preserve paternity rights, putative fathers must register within 30 days of the birth of a child; Registration form may be requested by mail or email; To search, apply for search access online
Fees
None to register; $75.00 charge for IPFR searches in cases of non-DCFS wards; Fee for an IPFR search for DCFS wards may be avoided if a search request form with a valid DCFS child ID# is provided (which will be cross matched with the current child ID list)

Online registry designed for fathers who may not be living with their child's mother or who may not be legally recognized as a father. Registry information is used to locate a father in the event that his child is being placed for adoption. The site is designed to protect his confidentiality and rights as a father.

Interested parties may also search the registry, but must register before viewing the registry. These include:

- A child's mother or father.

- A child welfare agency to whom the mother has expressed an interest in making an adoption plan.

- The potential adoptive parents.

- The attorney for any one of the above parties.
