Eligibility

Eligible individuals of any age – children, transition-aged youth, and adults – with an eligible disability can open an account at any time if the eligible disability exists at the time an account is opened, and the onset of the disability was prior to the individual’s 26th birthday; call or visit website for details

Eligible individuals may open a savings account with funds to use for future qualified disability expenses.  The account is an excluded resource for Medicaid, and will not be considered for the purposes of determining eligiblity to receive other resourced-based benefits, like SSI, SNAP, and Medicaid.
