Eligibility
- Eligibility is based on income and resources
- Monthly income and resource guidelines vary based on the number of persons in the household
- Assistance is limited to those who are not eligible for other public assistance and/or do not have sufficient income or resources to meet all or part of their shelter needs
- An individual must currently reside within the geographic boundaries of Douglas County in order to make application for continuous assistance through the Douglas County Department of General Assistance
- An applicant requesting assistance must attest that they are a United States citizen or a qualified alien under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act

Financial assistance provided through this program may include rent, mortgage payments, utilities, clothing and non-food items. There are no funds available to assist with application fees or deposit assistance.
An individual must currently reside within the geographic boundaries of Douglas County in order to make application for continuous assistance through the Douglas County Department of General Assistance.
Assistance is limited to those who are not eligible for other public assistance and/or do not have sufficient income or resources to meet all or part of their shelter needs.
All General Assistance payments are made directly to the landlord, and/or utility company.
