HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START | TRI-COUNTY OPPORTUNITIES COUNCIL

Early Head Start and Head Start programs provide comprehensive services to children and families, focusing on early childhood education, health, nutrition, and family support. These programs offer developmental activities, screenings, and resources to enhance children's learning, as well as support services such as parenting education, mental health services, and assistance with securing basic needs. The goal is to prepare children for school and foster family well-being.

Eligibility

Primarily based on income, with a focus on serving families at or below the federal poverty level, priority is given to children from low-income families, including those with disabilities, as well as children in foster care or those experiencing homelessness, Early Head Start serves pregnant women, infants, and toddlers up to age 3, while Head Start serves children ages 3 to 5
