Eligibility

For Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs, must be 55 years or older, pass a background check, meet income guidelines, and serve a minimum of 10 hours per week; Ombudsman volunteers must be age 21 and older and enrolled through an application and screening process

Foster Grandparents provide service to children with special needs in schools, Head Start or Health facilities. Volunteers who are age 55 and older and meet income guidelines agree to serve a minimum of 10 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $4/hour and other benefits.

Senior Companion Program provides older adults with special needs assistance in their homes. Volunteers who are age 55 and older and meet income guidelines agree to serve a minimum of 10 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $4/hour and other benefits.
