Salvation Army Western Division Headquarters, The
Summer 2026:
Serves families in need by bringing free, nutritious dinnertime meals directly to conveniently located public places and serving them food-truck style. Runs each weeknight (except for holidays) during the summertime.
Serving times and locations for 2026 (Jun 1-Jul 31):
- Miller Park (by the splahspad area): 2707 Redick Avenue, serving from 6 pm-6:30 pm.
- Benson Park (by the basketball court): 5333 North 72nd Street, serving from 6:45 pm-7:15 pm.

Starting May 27, 2026, families can pick up a grab bag for kids for free at any of the program’s 17 distribution sites. No registration or paperwork is needed.
Locations are open every Wednesday from 12 pm-12:30 pm, through Aug 5, 2026. Four kid-friendly, ready-to-eat meals will be handed out to each person.
Distribution sites include:
- Albany: United Methodist Church (1st Street).
- Erie: Village Office (Main Street).
- Fulton: First Reformed Church.
- Lyndon: Village Office (Commercial Street).
- Morrison: Crossroads Community Church (300 West South Street).
- Prophetstown: Eclipse Square Shelter.
- Rock Falls: Coloma Homes (near Main Office), Merrill School (Front Door), Rock Falls Public Library (Lobby), Rotary Park (Minkel Street).
- Sterling: Broadway Methodist, Latin American Social Club, Scheid Park (Shelter), Saint Paul Lutheran (Front Door), Wallace School, Ster-Lynn Apartments (Near Office).
- Tampico: Wietenkamp Hall.
Sites may not be able to accommodate food allergies at this time.
