Partners with local registered or licensed child care providers to assist families that are in need of childcare when they are experiencing a personal crisis.

Providing short-term 24/7 emergency care when families facing crisis are not able to provide regular care. Up to 72 hours of care can be provided to children birth-12 years of age.

Provides temporary homes for children of families in crisis. Services allow parents an opportunity to resolve a temporary crisis while reducing risk of abuse, neglect, and isolation for children. Connects families with a family friend, who offers a healthy relational support as the family navigates the situation. Also connects the family with a family coach, who can provide linkage to services in the community and set goals to reach a place of stability.

Offers various support services to families with children through a cooperative of area churches. Trained volunteers and staff work with parents facing chronic stress or crisis to find resources and supports that can help. The following services are offered with volunteers from local churches:

Crisis Child Hosting: Temporary care of vulnerable children to give parents a safe option during a crisis.

Child Respite Hosting: Hosting children for shorter periods (typically a few hours to a few days a couple of times a month). This provides parents with respite relief and allows for stabilization.

Mentoring and Advocacy Services for Parents: focuses on working with parents to develop goals and relationships/friendships to decrease isolation and increase support for the parent. Advocates can also help parents find local resources to help relieve stress.

Provides an emergency youth shelter for individuals ages 17 and under who are in need of temporary residential care due to family emergencies, risk of abuse or neglect, or other crises. The shelter ensures the provision of basic needs, counseling services, educational support, medical care, and resources to aid in recovery from trauma.

Also offered are therapeutic services to address behavioral, emotional, or substance use challenges. Additionally, the program fosters skills development and social interaction among peers, creating a supportive environment for healing and growth.

Provides emergency/crisis childcare services to families in Buchanan, Delaware, and Fayette counties. Services are a short-term solution to assist in childcare needs such as medical emergency, counseling appointment, court proceeding, domestic violence, work, or school. Parent Share and Support staff work to place the child(ren) with a state registered provider in their area.

Safe place for children to stay whose families are in, or approaching, crisis situations. Volunteer host families provide a home for children while their parents take the steps they need to reach stability.

Serves the counties of Scott, Muscatine, Des Moines, Jackson, Louisa, and Clinton in Iowa and Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and parts of Whiteside in Illinois.

Provides an emergency shelter for youth individuals ages 18 and under who are placed due to a family or personal crisis. The average stay is less than 30 days while the family, social workers and/or juvenile court considers placement options. Families and youth can make a self-referral, however appropriate written authorization must be obtained from a parent, guardian, or juvenile court in order to remain. Residents are given daily responsibilities, participate in group discussions, have planned recreational activities, and attend school when in session. All residents are required to attend school unless they have a diploma or GED.

Crisis care is for families who are currently experiencing a crisis or emergency in their lives and lack adequate care for their children. The provide a safe and nurturing environment for children ages newborn to 12 years old (or 17 if the child has special needs).

Crisis Child Care is available for those experiencing illness or hospitalizations of guardians or family members, mental health issues, substance abuse issues in the home, domestic violence, death in the family, and much more.

Emergency shelter services to youth who do not have immediate access to a safe living arrangement. Youth may include state wards, probation, and private children and youth, ages 12-18.

Provides a short-term intervention program to help abused, neglected, runaway, and troubled youth. Designates places in the community as a 'safe place' where kids can go when there are problems at home.

Offering shelter, education and mental health services to children ages 0-18 in the child welfare system.

A safe, neutral place for infants to stay while their parents take the time they need to decide if adoption will be the plan for their child. Staffed with experienced infant aides, in close coordination with a registered nurse.
