An individual must currently reside within the geographic boundaries of Douglas County in order to make application for continuous assistance through the Douglas County Department of General Assistance.

Assistance is limited to those who are not eligible for other public assistance and/or do not have sufficient income or resources to meet all or part of their shelter needs.

All General Assistance payments are made directly to the landlord, and/or utility company.
