Provides targeted services to families with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty. It is rooted in a case management approach, focusing on client needs. The Salvation Army utilizes internal resources and community collaboration to align to the goals of each client served.

The Supportive Housing Program assists with helping those find housing (does not house) who are experiencing displacement or homelessness. Case management services are available to help specifically to get them housed."

Addresses the critical need of finding affordable housing for clients of Matt Talbot who are given a high priority on the city-wide housing list.

Cannot take calls from the public to assist in finding housing; MTKO uses the coordinated entry system to determine who the housing clients will be and only take on new clients if there are openings.

Through this project, staff builds constructive relationships with landlords to facilitate rapidly locating stable and safe permanent housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Offers a day program where people battling different mental illnesses can socialize and gather in a safe environment.

Members make their own event and lunch calendars each month, cook lunches on a daily basis and help keep the clubhouse clean by signing up for tasks. There are weekly groups and daily activities, monthly out of town or in town outings that may include going out to eat, to a movie, seeing a sporting event or whatever else members decide to do that month.

There are two support staff in house and a peer support specialist who can offer support and assistance with finding housing, assistance with getting medical benefits and offering/setting up additional services and or resources clients may otherwise not know about.

Helps families secure safe and affordable housing to prevent the placement of children in care or support their return home.

Provides a dedicated caseworker who assists with referrals to emergency or domestic violence shelters, apartment searches, transportation to view units or meet landlords, and preparation for housing interviews.

Caseworkers also help families apply for income assistance, access community resources for basic needs, obtain subsidized housing such as Section 8, and offer follow-up services to prevent future housing instability.

Tutoring for children under age 12 from low income families. Dyslexia tutoring available.

Job readiness training class and work experience training and community service opportunities available. Transportation to job fairs (must meet qualifications; determined upon intake). Computer lab available to fill out applications on line. GED classes and adult dyslexia tutoring also available.

Workshops and classes related to financial education.

Helps parents advocate on behalf of their children with learning disabilities. Right to Educate advocate for students with special needs, including dyslexia.
