WOMEN AND CHILDREN'S SHELTER AND LIFE RECOVERY SERVICES | HOPE MINISTRIES

Offers the following services to women and women with children (these are not emergency shelter programs):

SHELTER offers short term shelter to meet the basic needs such as shelter, meals, and daily essentials, including clothing, hygiene items and laundry. Case management and referral services are provided with no fees. Please call ahead Monday- Friday between 8am-4:30pm to check on availability.

LONG-TERM LIFE RECOVERY for women (with or without children) is available to clients who are open and teachable with a willingness to change to do the hard work of life recovery. Women are offered an opportunity to work on their recovery and life skills for up to 24 months. Focus in on preparation to live independently while continuing to work on spiritual growth, recovery, basic life and work skills. Life recovery clients are required to save 75% of any income toward their transition fund.

RESIDENTIAL AND DAY PROGRAMMING | RESTORED WINGS

Faith-based organization providing hope and restoration to those enslaved in human trafficking. The two-year, residential therapeutic program is free to survivors and includes, but is not limited to, individual and group therapy, case management, mentorship, legal services, tattoo branding removal, occupational therapy, life skills classes, and comprehensive medical care.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR MEN IN RECOVERY | UNITY HOUSE OF DAVENPORT

Offers a place where men in recovery from addiction learn to live together in harmony and help each other grow in their sobriety.

Residents come from a recovery program or other areas when they need additional structure and support before returning to their homes and communities. The 7 houses have a resident manager, strict format, and structure to keep the house in order and the men sober in an environment that provides fertile ground for people to grow.

Designated dual-diagnosis/co-occurring mental health & substance abuse treatment facility. Gateway is able to provide treatment to those with substance use disorder, with or without a mental health diagnosis.

RESIDENTIAL HOUSING | MARYLAND LIVING CENTER

Up to 18 months of residential housing for youth ages 16-21 experiencing homelessness, have runaway, or are aging out of foster care. Living accommodations, independent living skills training, educational opportunities, counseling, advocacy, referral services, and mentoring of youth in a person-centered approach. Each individual's innate talents are identified and shaped to empower the individual with the tools necessary to become a productive member of society.

RESTORATIVE HOMES | CATALYST MINISTRIES

Offers a long-term restorative home where women can heal from sexual exploitation and extreme abuse. An array of supportive services are provided to foster healing, recovery, and an opportunity to begin a new life. Residents can stay up to 2 years at the home. Services included are housing, an individualized program for holistic healing where medical and therapeutic needs are met, and addiction recovery support provided as needed, and much more.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR WOMEN TRANSITIONING OUT OF FOSTER CARE | ANCHORED HOPE

Provides support, opportunities, and transitional housing for young women transitioning out of foster care. Young women work with staff to create personalized plans to help navigate key areas of life with the goal of completing the independent living program within approximately 24 months. Staff offer guidance and connect youth with essential resources, enabling them to take the next steps toward independence. This transitional living program must be completed while the client is going to school or work, and is not an emergency shelter.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING | LAZARUS HOUSE

Offers dormitory-style bedrooms, including rooms designed for families to stay together. The Center also provides increased support services and a more specialized case management plan to address the unique problems a Guest may have and to help the Guest achieve permanent independence.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT | LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES OF ILLINOIS

Outpatient and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program offering a continuum of care from evaluation to education/intervention to treatment and aftercare for adolescents and adults experiencing life area problems due to misuse, abuse, or dependence on alcohol/drugs. Individualized treatment services provided in individual, family, and group counseling sessions.

Inpatient treatment for adults available in Elgin.

Assists participants in becoming self-sufficient, independent, and economically stable, and to develop healthy and supportive relationships. This is acquired through a variety of advocacy and voluntary support.

BETHANY VILLAGE | BETHANY VILLAGE

Has 12 efficiency, 4 one-bedroom, and 3 two-bedroom units of transitional and permanent supportive housing. Provides food, shelter, clothing, supportive services, and assistance in finding employment. Prioritizes families with children. After two months of residency, applicants who demonstrate effective use of services may be approved for transitional housing up to one year.

EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR WOMEN WITH CHILDREN | CONTACT MINISTRIES

Emergency Shelter Services - Provides emergency/crisis short-term shelter for women with children of any age, including male children (ages 13-17). The shelter provides a safe place to sleep, evening meal, laundry, and shower facilities. The length of stay is 30 days. Residents are encouraged to meet with the Emergency Shelter Lead Supervisor for long term stability plan


Transitional Shelter Services for Women with Children - Provides immediate relief to women, 18 and over, with children (male children must be 12 years of age or younger). In addition, provides life's basic needs - food, clothing, personal care items, laundry facilities, transportation, and telephones to make appointments. Supportive services provided include life skill classes, employment assistance, budgeting, family literacy, parenting classes, tutoring, and case management with a goal of finding and maintaining permanent housing.

Short-term residence and program support to homeless families trying to get back on their feet. Family service plans are developed, offering counseling, support groups, and budgeting classes. Applicants must be a family unit, no individuals. Short term residence consists of 6 months to 2 years.

HOUSING SERVICES | YOUTH EMERGENCY SERVICES INC.

Services to runaway, homeless, near-homeless and street-dependent youth. Array of services includes shelter, street outreach, transitional living, and maternity group home.

24-hour crisis line for youth needing emergency assistance.

Emergency services include shelter program (short-term), Transitional Living Program (TLP), and Maternity Group Home (MGH) for up to 18 months. A variety of support services are provided for youth while in residence.

Require authorization of parent or guardian within 72 hours of placement for shelter placements and housing services.

Services include housing, all meals, transportation to school and scheduled appointments. Must be involved in daily residential activities including hygiene, meal preparation, scheduling activities, laundry, and facility upkeep.
