Cross Outreach is a homelessness prevention program offering limited assistance with basic needs for households in transition, subject to available funding. Services include help with rent, security deposits, electric or water bills, laundry vouchers, storage costs, and support for moving-related needs. While assistance with car gas is not provided, the program also offers resources to help individuals maintain clean and sanitary living environments. ***Rent, security deposits, electric, water and laundry voucher assistance requires clients to email a help request on the 3rd Monday of every month between 8 am-8 pm.

2026 Intake Dates are always on the 3rd Monday of each month, 8 am-8 pm.

Individuals and families can access resources once every 30 days for a supplementary food pantry, fresh food, toiletries, diapers, clothing, household goods, furniture, appliances, and other gently used items.

Expanded Parenting Program helps expecting mothers and parents with children up to 12 months with resources like diapers, education materials on parenting/breastfeeding, and consumer choice of other essential items.

Retail store selling new and gently-used building materials, tools, appliances, furniture, home medical equipment and supplies, and fixtures, at a reduced price to the general public.

Accepts donations of those products. (No mattresses are accepted or sold.)

Proceeds benefit the Habitat for Humanity of the Quad Cities.

Offers Free Treasurers events twice a year, in the spring and fall, providing furniture, household items, clothing, and appliances on a first-come, first-served basis. Offers the Foster Closet assistance program for foster families in the Four-County Area (Lyon, Sioux, O'Brien, and Osceola). Families will receive an initial $20.00 voucher per child to use at the thrift store. The families also receive 50% off any additional items during their initial visit to the store.

- Any additional dates or discounts are determined on a case-by-case basis.

- May be able to provide a "personal shopper" experience based on certain time limitation considerations.

- Items such as hygiene supplies, food, and blankets (among other necessity items) may be provided for free depending on the availability of the items.

Provides a program for families who are struggling financially and in need of household items, furniture, and beds/cribs. Accepts donations of gently used furniture and household items from the community. Donors may schedule an appointment to drop off items or arrange for volunteer pickup when available.
