CATHOLIC CHARITIES FOOD PANTRY | CATHOLIC CHARITIES - DES MOINES

Offers a DMARC food pantry and a personal pantry open to anyone in need. Individuals and families can receive an emergency food box once per calendar month as long as they have not received a food box from another DMARC food pantry during the same calendar month. The food pantry may be visited daily for food essentials, but will not receive a food box unless it has been 30 days since the last received.

PERSONAL PANTRY offers toiletries and other personal hygiene products to those in need when available at the same time as receiving the food box.

DIAPERS, WIPES AND INFANT FORMULA are available following the same guidelines as emergency food boxes.

HOMELESS DROP IN SERVICES | MATT TALBOT KITCHEN AND OUTREACH

Showers and laundry services for people experiencing homelessness available during regular business hours Mon-Fri only. Must meet with an outreach staff person before using the services for the first time.

Mailing address and on-site message service for those who are homeless. Mail pick-up times are Mon-Fri 11 am-1 pm and 5 pm-6:30 pm or by appointment. Messages are posted on the message board in the dining room.

Fayette County Thrift Store and Emergency Food Shelf offers a food program that provides a 3 to 5 day food supply of cereals, canned fruits, fruit juices, soups, vegetables, and garden produce when in season. Also offers personal items such as soap, toothpaste, other goods, and used clothing at no cost.

FOOD PANTRY AND DOING THE MOST GOOD MARKET | SALVATION ARMY - STORY COUNTY

Offering a food pantry that can be used once every 30 days for non-perishable items as well as produce, dairy, frozen meats, and bread items. Story County residents can utilize The Market once per week for perishable refrigerated items such as dairy products, meat, pre-made salads, and pre-packaged items as well as fresh produce, and breads/bakery items.

The Family Pantry is also available for use once every 30 days and offers hygiene items, diapers/pullups, wipes, toilet paper, soaps and cleaners, and more.

*Items in the pantries vary and may not always be available

CLOTHING SERVICES | THE HELPING HAND - INDIANOLA

Provides free clothing, including school and winter clothing, as well as household items such as furniture, appliances, and other essentials to residents of Warren County. The program accepts donations of new or secondhand clothing and household goods, refurbishes them if necessary, and distributes them to individuals in need. Additionally, the service supports personal and grooming needs by offering basic supplies for individuals who may lack access to these resources.

EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE | C.E.F.S. ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY CORPORATION

When funding allows, may be able to help with limited financial assistance for basic needs such as childcare payments, rent, rent deposits, utilities, food, hygiene products, car repairs, transportation, prescription costs, etc., through the Community Services Block Grant. Offers a full food, toiletry, and clothing pantry as well as financial assistance to those who are struggling financially. Available one time per month per household.

FOOD PANTRY | BLACK MEN UNITED

Drive-thru-only pantry held two Saturdays each month, and a pop-up outdoor pantry each Monday (food only). Offers perishable and non-perishable items, fresh produce, cleaning supplies, diapers, and laundry detergent washing sheets for 20 loads of laundry.

For Thanksgiving 2025, Thanksgiving pantry is Thu, Nov 20, starting 10 am.

For Christmas 2025, Christmas pantry is Mon, Dec 22, starting 11 am.
