The Consumer Fraud and Health Care Bureaus offer informal dispute resolution programs for consumers with complaints concerning their purchases and health care. Although the attorneys in the AG Office cannot represent any one individual in a lawsuit, a limited mediation program is offered to assist in resolving disputes or complaints filed by individual consumers.

Conducts peer review, a process by which the dental profession reviews and resolves problems or misunderstandings regarding dental treatment; the appropriate form will be sent to the patient. Once the complaint is received, it will be forwarded to the appropriate district for review. The peer review process handles only member complaints.

The Board does not have the authority to get involved in some matters, such as complaints involving health care professionals regulated by other agencies and complaints against hospitals, nursing homes and insurance companies. The Board cannot be involved in suing a licensee for damages or settling disputes over billing or disability ratings.
