Provides the reception and classification center for all new commitments to the adult institutional corrections system. IMCC houses a general population of approximately 250 offenders. A medium security general population unit is in operation at IMCC, as well as, a special needs unit with both medical and mental health beds. IMCC also runs the only licensed forensic psychiatric hospital in the state, providing inpatient psychiatric and evaluation service to non-adjudicated patients
