Street outreach workers are our first responders to gun violence.

Provides the following in response to gun violence:

- Crisis Response: Available to every family in the aftermath of gun violence. This includes mental health care, first-aid, practical needs of the victim and family, liaise with law enforcement, engage in interactive safety planning, and address any other emerging urgent needs.

- Conflict Mediation

- Job Coaching

- Street Beautification

Provides free training and education about sexual assault prevention to clients' faculty and/or students. Presentations on the following topics are provided to meet the needs of the group requesting services:

- Personal Safety: Children and teens learn important safety rules about home safety, good and bad strangers, good touch/bad touch, tricky people, and safety when traveling.

- Sexual Harassment (adapted to age level): Topics include "What is it", "What can I do to stop it", and "Sexual Harassment: It's Hurting People" (Grades 5-8).

- Bullying: K-1st "It's Not OK to Bully", 2nd-5th "I Was Just Kidding!", 6th-8th "Bullying 101", 8th-12th "Bullies and Harassment on Campus", Teachers and Staff "Strategies for Dealing with Bullies"

- Dating Violence and Healthy Relationships: Recognize warning signs of an unhealthy relationship.

- Sexual Assault and Abuse: Learn common myths, prevalence and effects of sexual assault.

- Mandated Reporting: Learn when to report and how to report.

- RAD Self Defense: Learn self defense skills. For boys and girls (5-11) and women ages 12 and up.

Offers to work with perpetrators of domestic violence to intervene in an abusive relationship to ensure the safety of the survivor and their children. Assists the batterer in recognizing and understanding their beliefs that justify the use of violence. PAIP is 26 sessions, each session lasting 90 minutes.

In addition to PAIP Galena Clinic also provides evaluations regarding potential for violence and referrals to other programs such as anger management counseling, substance abuse treatment, or psychotherapy, if deemed appropriate.

Provides General Assistance for those who are ineligible for any other state or federal funding program.

Provides Emergency Assistance for rent to prevent eviction and disconnection of utilities.

Also provides:

- TRIAD Senior Program - Informational seminars for seniors focusing on reducing criminal victimization of older persons.

- Voter registration and early voting for Kane County residents.

- Household battery recycling.

- Notary Public services.

Safe place for children who are alleging sexual and/or physical abuse, have witnessed a violent crime, witness to domestic violence, and/or been kidnapped to be interviewed by law enforcement, case workers, or forensic interviewer. Coordinated multi-disciplinary approach to the ongoing investigation of child abuse cases which includes law enforcement, protection and safety workers, legal, mental health, medical and trained professionals. Hair testing for drug endangered children and S.A.N.E. exams for children ages 0-16 years. Provides referrals to mental health services and support groups, and follows the case through the legal system. Assists parents in reporting abuse or following up on reports already made. Offers community educational presentations.

S.A.N.E stands for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner which is a registered nurse or nurse practitioner who has completed specialized training to assist sexual assault victims. They collect all forensic evidence and perform exams.

Provides a form of case management which assists at-risk and/or abused individuals age 60 and older identify their risks and find ways to reduce or eliminate those risks.

Provides a 24-hour crisis response and intervention program for youth ages 11-17. The CCBYS team talks with youth and their families to understand the challenges at home. They work quickly to make sure everyone is safe and then make a plan to support the whole family. CCBYS can help with youth in crisis, youth at risk of involvement with DCFS, and youth at risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system. Call for youth who are locked out and their parents will not allow them to return, a youth beyond the control of their parents and in immediate physical danger, a run-away, or a homeless youth without their parents.

Offers a crisis line for families and survivors of sexual abuse, domestic abuse or any other violent crime. A specially trained advocate will answer the crisis line and assist in any matter pertaining to sexual abuse, domestic abuse, or any other violent crime by listening and providing information, support and referrals. The crisis line is staffed 24 hours a day year-round.

Provides emotional support, individual counseling, support groups and therapy. Offers support and information for significant others, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, children's individual and group counseling, sheltering and housing services, along with general advocacy to help all community systems enhance their response to domestic abuse, sexual abuse or any other violent crime victims.

Services include counseling, legal advocacy and medical advocacy. Assists with legal filings, such as Orders of Protection and Stalking No Contact Orders, and provides guidance in forming safety plans. Also offers temporary emergency safe shelter and transportation when needed.

Offers youth and adult education programs with age-appropriate presentations on consent, body autonomy, sexual harassment, and bullying.

Offers a sexual abuse prevention training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Provides free and confidential sexual assault/abuse and crime victim services to anyone that has been sexually assaulted/abused.
