Offers assessments and 26-week psycho-educational group services for individuals who use power and control in their intimate relationships. Additionally, provides guidance and support for obtaining protective or restraining orders to ensure legal protection against harassment, stalking, or violence in situations involving domestic abuse, child abuse, elder abuse, sexual assault, or other forms of harm.

Medical Advocacy:

Trained advocates respond to local hospitals 24-hours a day. They can accompany a survivor through the evidence collection and medical treatment process. Advocates provide support, give information about options and rights, and assist with safety planning.

Legal Advocacy:

Legal advocates can assist with navigating the civil and criminal justice process. This includes assistance in filing for Civil No Contact and Stalking No Contact Orders. They can also help individuals assert their rights as crime survivors and accompany them to meetings with officials and court hearings.

Provides advocates who are able to guide survivors through the legal system and help them access available legal remedies. Advocates also access immigration remedies through protective statutes such as the Violence Against Women Act. Agency operates a volunteer attorney led family law clinic in partnership with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.

The State's Attorney's office is mandated by the Illinois constitution and the laws of the State of Illinois to represent the people of Grundy County and Illinois in the prosecution of criminal cases and to represent the county board and county officials of Grundy County in civil matters.

Although the office welcomes any general inquiry and will make every effort to direct a person in the right direction to obtain county services, they are not permitted to practice law or offer legal advice in civil matters or disputes among parties.

The Grundy County State's Attorney acts as the local Children's Advocacy Center.

Provides assistance with child support enforcement.

Offers support for obtaining protective or restraining orders to address situations involving child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse, sexual assault, workplace threats, or other forms of harassment.
