Provides school supply assistance for low income families in August. Backpacks with school supplies will be handed out to all children, whose parents have signed up for distribution this month (applications available at the main office). Must have applications in by July 31, 2025.

Provides free school supplies and book bags in the fall for income eligible students Pre-K through high school in Brown, Pike and Schuyler counties. In some cases fees for extra curricular activities may be covered for income eligible junior and senior high school students.

Contact your local Two Rivers Regional Council office to schedule an appointment for school supplies in July.

One-day book bag giveaway event, held on Saturday, August 11th, 2025. Hours are 12 pm-5 pm.

Held at YouTurn campus (4344 North 34th Avenue) and Skinner Magnet (4304 North 33rd Street).

2,500 free book bags will be given away to K-12 students; no documentation is needed.

Other family activities are offered at the event.

School supplies are for the children of Adams County entering grades Kindergarten to 12th grade. Registration is in July, with distribution just before school starts.

Back to School Bash offers free school supplies for students, grades K-12, that are in need (while supplies last).

For the 2025-26 school year, the Back to School Bash will be held at the John R. Grubb YMCA, located at 1611 11th Street, on Aug 17th, from 2 pm-5 pm. The Bash also provides entertainment such as a sports jamboree, local entertainment, barber and beauty shops and a community resource fair.

Back-To-School Physicals are provided to K-12 students in need by Des Moines University students, under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Services include physicals, dental screenings, vision testing, and immunizations (as needed). No appointment or insurance required. Vaccines will be available for eligible individuals. Translators available at the event. Free backpacks to all who attend!

Provides students with back-to-school supplies, including:

- 2 new/gently used outfits.

- 3 new pairs of socks.

- 3 new pairs of underwear.

- Fitted with a new pair of shoes.

- Basic toiletries.

- Basic school supplies.

School backpack and supply distribution for grades pre-K-12. Proof of school enrollment for each child is required, regardless of location.

For 2025, distribution is Friday, August 8th through Saturday, August 9th at the following locations:

-- The Salvation Army Citadel Corps (3738 Cuming Street, Omaha) - August 8th-9th at 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Must visit in person for distribution only; backpacks will be distributed in the gymnasium.

-- The Salvation Army Kroc Center (2825 Y Street, Omaha) - August 8th-9th at 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Walk-up distribution only. Enter the Kroc Center campus off of 27th Street (on the east end of the property).

-- Westroads Mall (10000 California Street, Omaha) - August 9th at 10 am-1 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Drive-thru distribution only. The distribution will take place in the mall's northeast parking lot, just north of JC Penney.

School Supplies giveaway Saturday, August 2, 2025, 2 pm-4 pm, South Omaha Location.

Distribution is first come, first served. Limited supplies are available.

School Supplies are donated and given to needy students at the beginning of each school year through the Back to School Fair. Pre-registration is required, call or visit the United Way of Mahaska County to register.

Provides school supplies and one school uniform at no cost.
