Enforces regulations in investigating all complaints regarding possible infestations of disease carrying insects and/or rodents, notifies property owners of their responsibilities in maintaining a vermin-free premise, and advises them as to the abatement measures which must be implemented.

Monitors the presence of ticks known to carry Lyme Disease - residents of Scott County can deliver ticks to the department for identification.

The Animal Bite Investigation and Control Program monitors all reported cases of humans being bitten by animals for the purpose of protecting the health of the person bitten, as well as rabies control. Enforces the County Animal Control Ordinance and serve as a liaison between the victim/physician and the State Rabies Advisory Board.
