The enforcement of the Public Health Ordinance, specific areas include, food protection, water laboratory, potable water, private sewage treatment and disposal, solid waste management (recycling, response to complaints), public health nuisances, surveillance of West Nile virus, body art, tanning and public beaches.

Under the Department of Public Health conducts swimming pool, spa and tattoo establishment inspections in accordance with State Codes.
