Participants in WIC receive an eWIC card for healthy foods. The foods provided by WIC provide nutrients that are essential for good health and growth. Free universal home visit program offered to every family in Lancaster County who has recently welcomed a newborn into the home, or given birth, including foster or adoptive families and families experiencing infant loss.


A highly trained Registered Nurse comes to the client's home at around three weeks postpartum to assess mom and baby, including weight and measurements, offering lactation support, providing education on topics relevant to all families, and answering any questions.

Offers respite care, child health, flu shots, public health programs, home care aides, immunization clinics, lead screening, WIC, radon test kits and communicable disease follow-up and education to control the spread of infection and illness.

--Immunizations are available for persons of all ages. Red Willow County Health Department accepts private insurance and also has programs for free immunizations for individuals without insurance.

--Lab draws are every Thursday morning by appointment. Panel $50.00, PSA $35.00, TSH $30.00, HA1C $25.00, and Vit D $55.00.

--Footcare by appointment only, at $30.00 per visit.

--RWCHD also provides Exercise and Blood Pressure Clinics in the community.

MercyOne Home Health Service programs include home nursing care for individuals who are ill but do not require hospitalization, new mothers and their infants, home care for patients requiring intravenous therapy. Private care by nurse aides/attendants for people who are frail, infirm or even well. Hospice care for the terminally ill is also offered.
