Offers primary, extended, and specialty care and serves as a tertiary care referral center for VISN 12. Specialized clinical programs include blind rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, neurosurgery, radiation therapy, and cardiovascular surgery. The hospital also serves as the VISN 12 southern tier hub for pathology, radiology, radiation therapy, human resource management, and fiscal services.

For Thanksgiving 2026:

A free Thanksgiving meal from the MLK Center is offered to the entire Quad Cities community over 3 days the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Fri, Nov 20th, 12 pm-5 pm (drive-through only).

Sat, Nov 21st, 11 am-5 pm (drive-through and 25 meal minimum delivery).

Sun, Nov 22nd, 12 pm-4 pm (dine-in only).

For meals, arrive in the parking lot and tell staff how many meals are needed. Meals include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce and dessert.

Curbside service is available at the MLK Center while supplies last.

Offers memberships, training, and coaching for amateur and professional fighters.

Promotes opportunities for a diverse population through a variety of programs and services.

Provides opportunities for children to learn, practice, and perform drumming, dance, drill and tumbling skills, while supporting their educational and character development.

Provides a structured after-school environment for students in kindergarten through 9th grade. Helps to motivate development of educational, social and emotional skills, and to create positive relationships. Homework help and nutritious food (snack and dinner) are provided.

Encourages members to remain active in their community and maintain social engagement with other seniors and the broader community.

For Christmas 2026:

Provides wrapped gifts and other treats and goodies for children ages 3-12 residing in the Quad Cities area.

Addresses the needs of youth who are at risk of using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs of abuse and promotes teen pregnancy prevention, utilizing a team of specialists that provides curriculum in the Rock Island/Milan School District #41.

Offers summer activities to youth in need of structured activities, projects, and field trips.

Provides free income tax return preparation for taxpayers earning up to $67,000 annually. Helps working families take advantage of all eligible tax credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC) and education credits. Volunteers from the community help prepare basic, current-year tax returns for eligible taxpayers.

Tax preparation is offered primarily in-person by appointment, with an option for walk-in services at the Martin Luther King Community Center (Rock Island).

Community Based Outpatient Clinic's services include Primary care services for veterans, Behavioral health services including individual and group counseling, Specialty care referrals to the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Laboratory: Blood drawing services, Prescriptions: Routine prescriptions processed through the mail or My HealtheVet.

Provides mental health care services (including counseling and psychiatry) for Addiction and substance use care, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar disorder, Psychotic disorders.
