Offers family-centered care and comprehensive obstetric services. Services include hospital delivery, childbirth education opportunities, lactation consulting (with possible home visits), car seat checks and other health and safety screening, as well as, cultural accommodations.

Works to prevent unintentional injury to our community’s children.

Provides adult education classes, in home safety and child passenger safety. Also provides a variety of injury prevention education for ages 3-19. Public health educators are available to present safety information upon request.

Assists the residents of Sarpy and Cass counties in understanding and implementing strategies to prevent unintentional childhood injury.

Assists families raising children with clothing for the whole family, household items, baby supplies, baby furniture, and car seats.

Offers certified Technicians on staff at each center to answer questions on proper installation and use of car seats.

Assists women who think they may be pregnant or have a confirmed pregnancy. Provides pregnancy tests, baby supplies, clothing, community referrals, and an earn-while-you-learn program for car seats, cribs, and other baby furniture.

Provides certified technicians who give free, hands-on child safety seat inspections and offer advice and guidelines. The goal of this program is to make sure children (one month to 12 years old) are in the right seat and riding safe.

Offers free Stop the Bleed/Hands Only CPR Classes, Child Car Safety Seat Checks, and BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Classes ($40).  All classes offered one time per month.

Offers certified Technicians on staff at each center to answer questions on proper installation and use of car seats.

Provides a proper car seat to a family that does not have the financial means to purchase a seat. A donation of $20 is required. Parents, grandparents and caretakers can also get a free car seat check to insure that their seat is installed safely.

Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect and help install a child's car seat, at no cost, to make sure it is safe. Car seat checks are offered year-round, by appointment.

Offers pregnancy testing services to determine pregnancy through laboratory procedures or home-use devices, prenatal education, and new baby home visits. 

Provides child passenger safety seat inspections, offering guidance on selecting appropriate car seats based on a child's height and weight, correct installation, and proper use. Also provides child passenger safety seats, including booster seats for older children. 

Additionally, supports the health and development of infants and toddlers through well-baby care services, which may include health screenings and immunizations.

Provides infant seats, toddler seats and booster seats to income eligible clients for a nominal fee. Car seats are installed and child safety seat education is provided to clients by trained technicians.

Provides a variety of emergency and non-emergency services for Fort Madison including but not limited to Emergency Medical Services and rescue operations, public assistance requests, carbon monoxide investigations, smoke detector and odor investigations.
