Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation is a Community Action Agency. Family Service Specialists work with individuals and families facing difficult and crisis situations. They are able to provide assistance in connecting to needed community programs and services. In addition, base on funding and donations, the office can support a crisis fund which allows them to provide assistance with rent, medical and prescription expenses, gas money, utilities, and other basic necessities when the household is facing an emergency situation. The agency actively seeks funds for the crisis program and all funds donated to a county stay in that county and are used to support the residents of that county.

Providing temporary assistance to individuals and families in need. The amount of assistance provided will be limited by the availability of funds.The Ministry reserves the right to deny assistance on the basis of information received in processing a client's application.
Provides financial assistance for expenses such as food and shelter for qualifying individuals who do not have other means of support.
Provides financial assistance for residents with little or no income through the General Assistance program.
Monthly grants available for childless individuals, 18-61 years old, who are unable to work due to a serious injury, surgery or a serious medical condition. Benefits are to assist with everyday living expenses. If eligible, clients may receive up to $350 per month in financial assistance.
A monthly grant program that provides short-term financial aid for those applicants that meet certain eligibility requirements.
Financial assistance provided through this program may include rent, board and room, utilities, and non-food vouchers. Out-of-County transportation is provided in certain situations. Assistance is limited to those persons in Sarpy County between the ages of nineteen and sixty-four who are not eligible for other public assistance and/or do not have sufficient income or resources to meet all or part of their shelter needs.

All General Assistance payments are made directly to the landlord, and/or utility company. Vouchers are provided to purchase non-food items at Family Fare Supermarket.

General Assistance is a temporary solution and does have work requirements. If an exemption has not been granted, all recipients are expected to actively seek employment while they are receiving assistance.

Financial assistance provided through this program may include rent, mortgage payments, board and room, utilities, clothing and non-food items.

Assistance is limited to those persons in Douglas County between the ages of 19 and 64-67 (dependent upon when an individual is eligible for Social Security benefits) who are not eligible for other public assistance and/or do not have sufficient income or resources to meet all or part of their shelter needs. Eligibility is based on income and resources. Monthly income and resource guidelines vary based on the number of persons in the household. For example, a one-person household's monthly net income cannot exceed $825.00 and a two-person household's monthly net income cannot exceed $950.00. Households with monthly income that exceeds those amounts are not eligible for assistance.

All General Assistance payments are made directly to the landlord, and/or utility company.

SMTD bus passes for township residents in need who are working outside of their home. Available for a six-month period to assist with transporting residents to their place of employment.
Provides a process through which clients in need may seek emergency financial aid. Funds are provided to help with the costs of clothes, transportation, medicine, rent,and utility shut-off notices for gas, electricity or water.

General Assistance provides financial support to Muscatine County income eligible residents in emergency situations.

Trust Services provides payee support to persons determined by the Social Security Administration to need assistance in managing their benefits.
