During the month preceeding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, families can receive a turkey (Thanksgiving/Christmas) or turkey or ham (Christmas/Easter). One such item per family per holiday (exceptions might be made for large families).

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

For Thanksgiving 2024, Thanksgiving Day meal served from 12 pm-12:30 pm and 6:30 pm-7 pm.

For Christmas 2024, Christmas day meal served from 12 pm-12:30 pm and 6:30 pm-7 pm.

The Gifts of Love Christmas store offers presents at affordable prices to families in need.

For Christmas 2024, the store will be open Friday, December 13th (9:30 am-8 pm) and Saturday, December 14th (9:30 am-11 am).

Families select their shopping time at registration.

Applicants must be the legal guardian of each child being registered, and the child must live in the applicant's home.

The mission of the program is to collect and distribute new unwrapped toys as Christmas gifts to children less fortunate in the local community, ages 6 months-12 years.

Toy Distribution:
Starts 12/7/24, ends 12/15/24. Approved applicants will be notified of specific distribution dates and locations.

Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

(Carroll County) Giving Tree/Toys for Tots forms are available at the Carroll Outreach Office starting October 17th. To be eligible, applicants must have primary custody of the children being signed up, must be a resident of Carroll County, have children ages 14 and under, and be on New Opportunities' programs. If applicant is approved, they will receive a letter specifying when unwrapped gifts may be picked up in December. Forms must be completed and returned to the Outreach Center on or before November 10th.]

Thanksgiving and Christmas Meals at Crossroads Mission Avenue.

Provides 2 to 3 toys for children ages 0-17. To be eligible for registration, a form of ID for every child and photo ID for the parent or legal guardian is required. The following ID's are accepted: Social Security Card preferred, birth certificate, passports, Medicaid or insurance cards, school ID cards, or state issued ID. Parent or legal guardian must be present to register children to receive gifts.

For Christmas 2024:

Opens for online registration starting Nov 1, 2024.

Parents and legal guardians may sign up children (birth-17 years) to receive Christmas gifts. Applicants must be registered to receive Christmas assistance for their children.

Toys will be distributed in December. All families must be pre-registered and provide the confirmation number that was given at the time of registration.

Thanksgiving Baskets: To receive a Thanksgiving Basket, registration is required from October 10 to November 10, 2024. To register, a photo ID, proof of address (utility bill, lease, etc), and proof of household (medical card, birth certificate, etc) must be submitted. If assistance is needed to register, call Salvation Army.

Christmas Toy Registration (Angel Tree) For families with children 0-15 years old: Registration is online for Christmas 2024. Applicants must register between November 1-December 7. To register, visit the www.saangeltree.org website. If registration assistance is needed, call the Salvation Army.

Offers gifts and food to those in need for the Christmas 2024 holiday. Reach out to the local County Outreach Office for more information regarding holiday help in the area.

Palo Alto County Outreach may provide holiday food boxes during Thanksgiving 2024 as well, depending on donations.

Offers a Christmas sit down dinner for anyone in need at the church on December 25, 2024 from noon to 2 pm or meal delivery from 11 am-1:30 pm. Individuals and families must call or email to register and live the area of West of Edgewood Road, north of Williams Boulevard, east of Linn-Benton county line and south of F Avenue for delivery.

Dinner will include turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a desert.

Delivered meals will not be left if no one answers the door.

Registration is open as of October 25 for the Shoe and Mitten Party. The event is held Saturday, December 7th, between 9 am and 1 pm. Location is 3100 West 4th Street, Sioux City.

For Christmas 2024, Christmas baskets are being offered at the 1310 White Street location, distributed on Monday, December 16 and Tuesday, December 17, 2024 Pick-up is from 10 am-3 pm on those days.

Sign-up is in-person only (no phone registration) during regular hours. Registration begins December 2nd, 2024. Deadline to sign-up is December 13, 2024.

No phone orders or delivery must come in to sign up and pick up.

Call for (319) 364-9131 for assistance if unable to do this. Households with children ages newborn up to 14 (on 12/25) can sign up for toys and a ham. Households without children eligible for toys can sign up for a ham.
