2026 YouthHope Holiday Food Baskets

Holiday Food Basket Application begin October 1, 2026. Holiday baskets include holiday meal food items and a grocery gift certificate. Baskets are limited. Clients who apply for a food basket from another agency are not eligible. First-come, first-served. Basket recipients will receive a basket pick-up card at the time of application with details.

Application must be completed in-person during Food Pantry hours: Monday & Friday 9 am-12 pm. Families may select either Thanksgiving OR Christmas while supplies last. Please one ONE basket per family per year.

Offers Toys for Tots sign-ups for children ages 14 and under. Sign-ups are currently open and close on December 1st. Call to apply for the program and use extension 0. 

Baskets containing food for a holiday meal and gifts for children ages 16 and under.

Sign Up is the last full week in October, with varying hours.

Distribution of baskets takes place the Wednesday the week prior to Christmas.

Must live with in the area between Brady Street & Lincoln Avenue and River Drive to Kimberly Road.

Provides gifts and clothing for the Christmas season to children of eligible households in Hancock, Henderson, and McDonough counties.

For Christmas 2025:

Due to a high number of applications received in a short time, WIRC's Project Santa program has paused applications for the 2025 season (as of 10/13/25).

A waitlist application is now available: https://wirpc.org/projectsanta. If spots open for the 2025 program, WIRC will consider households on the wait list in the order they applied.

Those who do not want to be put on the wait list are encouraged to explore other holiday programs in the area such as Toys for Tots, Angel Tree, or Shop with a Cop.

Offers free Christmas trees and decorations. Call for information.

For Christmas 2025, Christmas baskets are being offered at the 1310 White Street location, distributed December 15th, 2025, through December 17th, 2025. Pick-up is from 10 am-3 pm on those days. Sign-up is in-person only during regular hours. Registration begins December 1st, 2025. Deadline to sign-up is December 12, 2025. 

Offers businesses, community members, groups, and organizations the opportunity to connect with and support local families during the holiday season by providing gifts and essentials like food and toiletries. These families, identified by trusted service agencies, are navigating challenges such as financial hardship, health concerns, or significant life changes.

Provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Both meals are open to anyone in need. Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day, 11 am-1 pm, Friday, Nov. 28, 2025. Pre-registration is required. Registration will be taken on November 1st, 2025. Call the church office for details. Christmas Day dinner on Christmas Day, 11 am-1 pm, Thursday, Dec 25, 2025. Pre-registration is required. Registration will open on December 1st, 2025. Call the church office for details.

Offers a Toys for Tots sign ups for children 0-14 years of age. All adults in the household must have a photo ID and all children must have ID with birth date. Sign ups start mid-October through mid-November. Can call or stop by the office. Toy pick-up in December.

Provides Christmas Dinner 2025 on Sunday December 21, 2025. Dinner go go boxes will be available for walk-up pick up at the front door from 12 pm-1:30 pm , follow the signs for vehicle pick at the side door on Dorgan Place. Delivery service will start at 11 am. Please call Brenda at (563) 583-1779, Mon-Thu from 7 am-3:30 pm to order a home delivered meal. Deadline to order is Wednesday December 17, 2025.

Holiday assistance includes Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas food, and gifts for children through 12 years old. Contact the Taylor County Matura office for more information.

Thanksgiving 2025 bonus items will be offered during regular shopping hours to registered clients during the month of November.

Christmas 2025 assistance available with traditional Christmas Meal Box and Christmas Gifts for Kids to registered clients in December. December Blessings registration begins on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Deadline ends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

To qualify:

If client has used this pantry's services for the last three months and resides in the Waukee School District and has recently provided a proof of residency and identification for each person in their household, they may already be qualified; please complete an online application. If this is the first time applying for assistance or client's information in WayPoint Resources system is not current, client must bring required documents to the WayPoint Resources office during food pantry hours within 10 days of submitting an application.

If client already applied at another agency:

If client has been approved or expects to be approved with another agency for their holiday program, client will be disqualified from this program. This includes, but is not limited to, West Des Moines Human Services, Toys for Tots, Shop with a Cop, Angel Tree Programs and other food or gift giveaway programs.

**Applicants are not qualified for the program until identification for each person, and proof of residency is confirmed.

Once approved, applicants will receive an email confirmation with pick up instructions, including date and time. If applicant has not received an email confirmation, please contact WayPoint Resources at [email protected] or (515) 987-5523. Please bring a photo ID in order to receive dinner boxes and gifts.

If client cannot make the assigned date and time for pick up, another family member or friend can pick up on their behalf. Please call and let WayPoint Resources know who has permission to pick up items, or make other arrangements. If client does not pick up items or make other arrangements for pick-up, their items will be given to families on the waiting list. Failure to pick up may disqualify client's family from future programs.

2026 New Visions Holiday Celebration:

- Community Christmas Family Sign-Up will open October 14th, 2026. Families may be eligible to receive gifts for children in their care, books, games and food for the holidays.

- Community Wide Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2026 (families will sign up for a specific time when registering) at the Iowa West Sports Plex in Council Bluffs (3260 Mid America Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51501).

Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

Provides holiday meals to individuals and families that visit the Henderson County Food Pantry. Call in advance to set up a meal. 

Christmas Food Voucher and a toy for children 17 or under. For Christmas 2025, applicants are encouraged to call their local Salvation Army office for details or signup oline at saangeltree.org.

Holiday meals 2025 for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter are served at Bethel Mission's Hope Cafe (1310 6th Avenue).

Thanksgiving meals served at Hope Cafe on Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 12 pm-1 pm (no reservation required to eat at Hope Cafe). Thanksgiving orders for in-home meal delivery are from Nov 3rd - Nov 19th, 2025 at 4:30 pm or until capacity is reached. Call (515) 265-4277 or sign up at www.hopeiowa.org. Thanksgiving delivery to: Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Booneville, Carlisle, Cumming, Clive, Dallas Center, Des Moines, Granger, Grimes, Hartford, Indianola, Johnston, Martinsdale, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Prole, Urbandale, Van Meter, Waukee, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights.

Christmas meal 2025 home delivery can be reserved by calling (515) 265-4277 or online at hopiowa.org. Orders will be taken form Dec 1st ,2025 - Dec 17th, 2025 at 4 pm or until full. Christmas meals are delivered to Altoona, Clive, Des Moines, Johnston, Pleasant Hill, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights.

Christmas can be enjoyed at Hope Cafe on Christmas day Thursday, Dec 25, 2025 from 12 pm-1 pm.
