Offers a variety of camping experiences for girls ages 5-17, including established camps and day camps.

CAMP SACAJAWEA is located on 405 acres of wooded ravines and plateaus bordering the Des Moines River, providing opportunities for exploration and outdoor activities.

CAMP TANGLEFOOT, situated partially along the shore of Clear Lake, spans 50 acres and features a meadow for play, forest trails for hiking, and chances to observe wildlife in the prairie and marsh.

CAMP JOY HOLLOW, located on 360 acres in the Loess Hills north of Sioux City, is ideal for year-round indoor and outdoor troop activities.

CAMP JULIETTE, set on 27 wooded acres within Marshalltown city limits, offers a natural environment with spring wildflowers and frequent sightings of deer. Additionally, approximately 15 day camps are held throughout the Council during the summer.

Camperships are available to provide scholarships or tuition assistance for children and youth who may otherwise be unable to attend camp, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

Camps for boys and girls age 7 through 16 years offered at the Walnut Creek and Waukee YMCA's. Day camps vary by location. Specialized camps are also offered at those YMCA locations. Scholarships may be available for those that qualify, call for more details.

Provides Information and referrals about day and overnight camps throughout the state, including camps serving people with disabilities.

DFI Title XX Camping Service program- Provides matching funds to offer camp opportunities to Illinois youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS | CAMP FIRE HEART OF IOWA

Summer Camp Scholarships for children to attend Camp Hantesa or a Camp Fire sponsored day camp. Families whose income falls below federal poverty guidelines may apply for scholarships. Limited scholarships available.

SUMMER DAY CAMPS | DES MOINES PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Program is intended for youth looking to have the day camp experience. Site locations are selected based on community need, partnerships, and safe spaces. Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, field trips, STEM programs, nature-based programs, swim lessons, and more! Lunch and snacks will be provided.

GRASP card offers discounts to low income families (up to 50% off). Apply by calling IMPACT Community Action Partnership, (515) 518-4770.

YOUTH RECREATION EXPENSE ASSISTANCE | WEST DES MOINES HUMAN SERVICES

Recreational Scholarships are offered for low-income children for West Des Moines Parks and Rec offerings. Low income families can also apply for reduced pool passes which allows unlimited admittance all summer to the Holiday Park Aquatic Center, Valley View Aquatic Center. Applications for reduced pool passes begins in April of each year.

SUMMER ART CAMPS | LUX CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Classes offered in painting, drawing, clay, mixed media, metal art, and more. Youth ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16 can be registered. Program runs June through August.
