PARKS AND RECREATION | ROCKFORD PARK DISTRICT

Parks and recreation department serving the city of Rockford. Provides a wide range of activities for individuals of all ages. Lewis Lemon Community Center (LLCC) and Washington Park Community Center (WPCC) also offer sports programs for youth.

LLCC and WPCC Sports: Community center members are invited to participate in various sports teams. All practices take place on site. Competitions take place between local community centers and other not for profit organizations.

SWIMMING FACILITIES | NORTHEAST IOWA WELLNESS AND RECREATION CENTER

The Northeast Iowa Wellness and Recreation Center has a public swimming facility that offers swimming lessons for adults and children and aquarobics classes.

RECREATION CENTER | KISHWAUKEE SPECIAL RECREATION ASSOCIATION

Provides community-based therapeutic recreation programs for individuals with special needs and abilities. Aims to serve all residents who have special needs and to facilitate the inclusion of these individuals into leisure programs.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES | HARLEM COMMUNITY CENTER

Provides the HCC Sports Complex. It is a 34-acre complex home to baseball, basketball, walking path, skate park, and playground.

Recreational programming includes baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, spring/fall soccer, Tae Kwon Do, cheerleading, baton, Zumba, and yoga.

Social programming includes Kids Fun Club, summer day camps, neighborhood playground programs, and building rentals for family/local gatherings.

Educational programming includes senior assistance/seminars, monthly senior luncheon speakers, before/after school programming, and instructional tots classes for children and parents.

DECORAH MUNICIPAL POOL | CITY OF DECORAH PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

The municipal pool provides general swimming water recreational activities for the public. In addition, specific programs are offered including: swim lessons for people with disabilities, parent-infant/toddler and pre-school swim lessons, Red Cross swim lessons (Levels 1-6), Red Cross lifeguard training and water safety classes, and water exercise sessions.

SUMMER FUN CAMP | HARLEM COMMUNITY CENTER

Provides activities that are centered around a weekly theme. A typical day includes, active group game, crafts, clubs, free play, 30-minute break time with age-appropriate math and reading activities. Youth leaders have specialized training prior to start of camp and are CPR /First Aid certified. Children bring a lunch daily.

PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS | LINCOLN LAND DOWN SYNDROME SOCIETY

Primary programs and activities include providing swim lessons for individuals with special needs through the local YMCA and scholarships for children to attend various camps, classes and summer programs. Holds special activities and gatherings for members and their extended families. Donates to other groups or causes which provide benefit and support to people with Down syndrome including UCP and the Springfield Parks Foundation for the purchase of accessible playground equipment at Springfield's Washington Park.

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES | WAUKON WELLNESS CENTER

Waukon Wellness Center offers fitness classes, including: cardio, chisel, senior circuit, cardio kick, fitness mix, total body conditioning, yoga, zumba, YogaSculpt, group cycling and circuit challenge. The facilities include cardio and strength equipment; basketball, volleyball, tennis, and racquetball courts.
