A 24/7 Crisis Line, staffed by trained domestic violence advocates, offers counseling, information, and education about domestic abuse issues to victims, their friends, and family members.

Additionally, intervention programs for domestic violence offenders are available, focusing on helping offenders understand and take responsibility for their actions, recognize the damaging effects of their behavior, and develop skills such as problem-solving, conflict resolution, stress management, and communication. These programs may include group sessions addressing the cycle of abuse, power and control tactics, and stereotypical gender roles, as well as victim panels where survivors share their experiences to foster accountability and awareness.

ABUSE AND CRISIS INTERVENTION SHELTER | DOMESTIC/SEXUAL ASSAULT OUTREACH CENTER

Provides a crisis-based shelter offering comprehensive support to victims and their children fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, stalking, and other violent crimes. The shelter operates 24/7 and provides free, confidential services to survivors to regain control of their lives. Services include crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, information, education, referrals, counseling/support groups, court advocacy, medical advocacy, transportation, and assistance with basic needs such as food, clothing, personal hygiene supplies, and laundry. Child advocacy and housing location support are also available.


Additionally, the shelter incorporates programs aimed at preventing sexual assault for both adults and children. These programs educate adults on precautions to avoid sexual assault and provide strategies for responding to potential threats, with a focus on vulnerable populations. For children, the shelter offers educational initiatives to help them recognize inappropriate behavior, assert their boundaries, and seek help if approached or assaulted.

A division of the Polk County Department of Community, Family and Youth Services that provides assistance to victims of crimes and includes the following programs: Violent/Personal Crime Assistance Program; Rape/Sexual Assault Care Center; Child Sexual Abuse Resource Coalition (C-SARC); Intra-Family Sexual Abuse Program (IFSAP) and Volunteer Program.

COPING AFTER SUICIDE support group for families and/or friends of suicide victims

FREE COUNSELING and advocacy services for anyone affected by a violent crime or sexual assault (children and adults).
