The Iowa Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Foundation is a statewide organization providing emotional support to SIDS and SUID families, educating professionals and the general public about SIDS and safe sleep practices, and funding medical research into the causes of SIDS. Grief Support offered through Gundersen Palmer Lutheran is an 8-week structured program with some audiovisual presentations. Each session covers the following topics: symptoms, the process of grieving, how to better resolve emotions, coping strategies, stress relaxation, and other related issues.
Support group and video seminar for those who are grieving the loss of someone close to them. Each session includes a video seminar featuring experts on grief and recovery subjects and the real-life stories of people who have experienced similar losses. Participants are able to interact with others who have experienced a loss and to share their own experience as well. Class sessions are usually held twice yearly and starting dates vary from year to year.

This is a group where members can obtain resources/support and openly share thoughts and comments with others. Includes trained peer supporters who are available for confidential discussions via Facebook Messenger and Wall-Posts. Also offers 24/7 crisis support through affiliated crisis center via crisis support over Messenger.

Veterans Memorial Hospital offers a grief support group for people who have experienced any type of loss such as death, divorce, illness, or some other source of grief. The support group meets on the second Tuesday each month at 5 pm in the Education Conference Room in Veterans Memorial Hospital.

-- The First Steps Grief Support Group: A bereavement group for anyone who has experienced loss. Offers support as the first steps are taken in dealing with a loss.

-- Living Through Grief: The group uses videos, books, speakers, and discussions to help participants learn more about the grief process, share stories, and regain hope for healing.

The First Steps Grief Support Group meets in the Conference Dining Room at FHN Memorial Hospital, and the Living Through Grief meets in the Deaconess Room at FHN Memorial Hospital.

Hospice care is provided for people of all ages with all diagnoses during the final stage of their life with routine home care, respite care or inpatient care. Cost of these services are covered by Medicare and Medicaid and may also be covered by private insurance, depending on the individual's policy. Daily Room and Board rate is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid and is private pay.

Taylor Hospice House offers a facility with 12 beds and has an RN on duty 24 hours a day for those wanting or needing inpatient hospice care services.
