Educates society on the attitudinal, physical and legal barriers which confront persons with disabilities and influences the removal of those barriers. Provides information to and opportunities for health promotion, recreation, employment, sports, services and camaraderie for spinal cord injured and diseased veterans and others as appropriate. Provides for cooperation with and seek the support of other groups and individuals who share PVA's objectives.

Provides access to confidential trauma treatment, connecting clients with licensed mental health therapists to address conditions such as post-traumatic stress, moral injury, and thoughts of suicide. 

Services are offered to active duty, veterans, and their loved ones regardless of a client’s ability to pay or military discharge status. Therapists are available both in person and via telehealth.

Offers virtual peer support groups for spouses and caregivers, along with wellness programming such as trauma-informed yoga and self-defense classes, primarily in Omaha and Lincoln. 

Offers peer support services primarily with justice-involved veterans.

Quarterly financial literacy classes are offered virtually and in person.

Offers comprehensive support to veterans, military personnel, and their families to address challenges related to deployments, reintegration, and accessing entitled benefits. The program is staffed by certified veteran peer support specialists who provide peer-to-peer mentoring, group support, and therapeutic counseling.

Assistance is available to help veterans understand and access the full range of benefits and services they are entitled to, including guidance on eligibility criteria, application processes, and representation in administrative or legal matters. 

Veterans and their family members are encouraged to drop in or call with any concern; if the agency cannot directly assist, it is part of a network that can provide additional resources. Programs include the Voices of Veterans writing group, which meets monthly; a weekly support group for Vietnam veterans; and a Wednesday evening gathering for OIF/OEF veterans focused on food and camaraderie. Additional support meetings are initiated as needs arise.

Connects and supports Nebraska's military community through a mobile app. Provides resources, events, and news, along with opportunities for support and connection.

Committed to strengthening military families by connecting them with their neighbors, both individuals and organizations, to create vibrant communities of mutual support.

Provides peer-support programming for military and veteran families as they move from active-duty life, transition to civilian life, and put down roots after military life. All programs are free to participants and are continuously evaluated and updated based on participant feedback to ensure they meet the needs of those they aim to serve.
