Offers a day program where people battling different mental illnesses can socialize and gather in a safe environment.

Members make their own event and lunch calendars each month, cook lunches on a daily basis and help keep the clubhouse clean by signing up for tasks. There are weekly groups and daily activities, monthly out of town or in town outings that may include going out to eat, to a movie, seeing a sporting event or whatever else members decide to do that month. There are two support staff in house and a peer support specialist.

Offers recreational and social activities geared towards those with a diagnosed persistent mental illness. A variety of activities are available including crafts, billiards, computers, Internet access, television, and areas for group activities.

A non-clinical, membership drop-in-center.

Advocates for consumers in the areas of mental health services, housing, financial issues, substance abuse, and medical issues. These services are offered through local support agencies.

Offers a pscyho-social environment with access to computers, TV, a pool table, newspapers, a telephone, and limited food services.

Provides one-on-one and group peer support sessions, facilitate recreational and socialization activities, and encourage individuals to participate in a peer recovery community. All services are open to anyone and any emotional distress they may be facing.

Offers people experiencing a mental health episode an alternative to hospitalization. Services Include:

- Crisis Support.

- Stress Relief.

- Coping Skills Training.

- Community Resource Referrals.

Offers immediate crisis and mental health support in an alternative, calmer environment than Emergency Departments. Peer recovery support specialists help distressed and overwhelmed individuals in a comfortable place, without using more intensive intervention.

Services include, crisis intervention, safety planning, coping skills training, community resource referrals, follow-up support.

Community support program offers case management, day treatment, medication monitoring/administration, teaching of psychosocial skills, community follow-up, drop-in center, protective payee, and a residential program.

Psychiatric Day Treatment
Provides crisis care for people experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis that requires immediate attention. Services include mental health, psychiatric and substance abuse screenings, crisis stabilization (evaluation and treatment for those that need observation for a more thorough evaluation), counseling services and care coordination through key service providers.

Patients can also be brought in with loved ones or come on their own. Use of Mental Health Access Center services is 100 percent voluntary.

Connections offers support to promote coping, problem-solving and self-management of individual behavioral health. Connections offers coffee and doughnuts in the mornings and a noon time meal. There is a meal offered around the lunch hour as well.

Connections has various activity rooms available for those seeking activities to participate in or just a common area to relax and unwind during your time at the center. Connection does have a donation room available for those in need of clothing, shoes, coats, gloves, etc. This room and supplies are update frequently.

Connections staff can offer support and assist with finding housing, assistance with getting medical benefits and offering/setting up additional services/resources clients may otherwise not know about.

Drop in center for adults with mental illness that offers support, empowerment, socialization, and peer networking.

Offers a safe space for individuals experiencing emotional stress or overwhelming symptoms due to live circumstances.

Service may include, emotional support groups, assistance in applying for Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, housing applications, and Social Security and a safe place to enjoy a snack, watch TV, make art, or play a game.

Offers recreational and social activities geared towards those with a diagnosed persistent mental illness. A variety of activities are available including crafts, billiards, computers, Internet access, television, and areas for group activities.

Offers a community center for adults experiencing mental illness, including substance use disorder. Provides a fun, uplifting wellness center staffed by Peer Support Specialists (PSS's). Peer Support Specialists are persons with lived experience of mental illness(es) and Recovery from that/those illness(es).

NAMI Central Iowa's primary missions are to SUPPORT people affected by mental illness, EDUCATE with facts about mental health topics, and ADVOCATE for mental health concerns.

NAMI Peer-to-Peer | a free, 8-session course for adults living with mental illness (diagnosed or undiagnosed).
NAMI Family-to-Family | a free, 8-session course for family, significant others, and friends of adults living with mental illness.
NAMI Basics | a free 6-session group education program for parents or family caregivers of children and teens experiencing symptoms of mental illness or already diagnosed.
Iowa State University NAMI on Campus | a free, mental health student group providing education and awareness resources.
NAMI on Campus at Grinnell | a free, metal health student group providing education and awareness resources at Grinnell College led by adults impacted by mental illness.

Offers help to men and women who are seriously and chronically mentally disabled maintain and facilitate his/her adjustment and acceptance within the community. Each service recipient is unique and the program's pace is designed for each individual's capacity to participate on a positive basis.

Adult Day Programs
Offers a socialization and educational center for persons with mental illness. Services include rehabilitative skill training to assist persons in recovery. A Friendship Lunch is served every Wednesday and is open to all participants. Monday and Friday are sack lunch days.

Provides developmental training and support to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Provides an appropriately structured environment that encourages participants to function optimally in the least restrictive setting, whether vocational, social, or community. Programs may include:

-Sensory motor activities.

- Occupational therapy.

- Vocational skills.

- Job training.

- Volunteer and employment options in a safe and supportive environment.

- Drop-in program for participants who do not have funding yet (Project Leisure).
