Day time drop-in center for adults who are homeless. All services at the facility are accessed through case management. Residential services may be available but must be accessed through case management.


Services include showers and bathrooms, storage for personal belongings, laundry facility, kitchen, employment and training, classrooms, art room, office space, and donation room.


Also serves as a warming center during regular hours in the winter months.

Warming center available on days when temperatures are below freezing (32 degrees Fahrenheit). Men, women, and families are welcome to the space without residing in the center itself. Lunch and dinner are available to guests at 12 pm and 6 pm. All guests will have access to any Open Door Mission partner agencies on-site.

Must complete intake if staying overnight.

Provides housing, meals, clothing, case management, life skills, health care and mental health care referrals, substance abuse treatment referrals, financial and job skills coaching, socialization and recreation opportunities to assist men experiencing homelessness to overcome the barriers that keep them from becoming housed and self-sufficient.

Cold Weather Shelter "Cold Cots": During the winter months when the temperatures are severely cold, the cold weather shelter opens expanding the 30 bed men's shelter to handle an additional 20 men providing them with a cot, a meal, and access to showers while space is available.

Offers access to informational, educational, and recreational resources to the community, including online resources, genealogy, and language learning. The library also offers free access to computers, Wi-Fi, meeting spaces, and events for all ages.

PRINTING, COPYING, SCANNING, FAX SERVICES: individuals may print files from the library's computers or by using the remote printing service to print from any mobile device, laptop, or home computer to the library's printers. (Documents will be saved in the print queue for 2 days.)

For those participating in the shelter program, the cafe can provide meals, beverages, personal hygiene kits, showers, laundry, social activities, and peer-led support.

Emergency shelter residents have access to case managers upon request.

Provides a cooling center during extreme heat. People do not have to be Y members; however, non-members can only sit in the community room. They cannot use the workout/pool facilities.

Clothing Closet, located at 905 East 9th Street in Muscatine (563) 261-7456, has limited small furniture, household goods, child/baby and adult clothing (based on donations).

Support services for individuals in need, including showers, a warm place during the day, and transportation for homeless individuals to work.
