Daily shelter with a capacity for 10-15 people. Meals provided daily. Showers also available.

GDC serves low income, homeless and/or recently incarcerated individuals. Services include:

-- Economic assistance to obtain State ID, birth certificate, and applying for social security

-- Mental health group/individual therapy

-- Assistance with employment process

-- Stress reduction classes

-- Bus tickets*

-- Opportunity for community services

*Class schedules are limited to a certain number of participants and are scheduled on certain days. Bus ticket availability will vary by day.

Offers a daytime cooling center for people and their pets to get out of the heat and cool off during the ARL's regular business hours.
Provides shelter for those needing respite from the summer heat. The decision is determined by the Salvation Army. Bring any items to keep you entertained and comfortable.

Church is located at 509 Mulberry.

Clothing Closet, located at 905 East 9th Street in Muscatine (563) 261-7456, has limited small furniture, household goods, child/baby and adult clothing (based on donations).

Support services for individuals in need, including showers, a warm place during the day, and transportation for homeless individuals to work.

Offers an older Adult and Senior Activity Center that provides seniors a place to gather and socialize. Staff will help refer those in need to other agencies for help as needed. The Center also acts as a warming/cooling center for the general population of DeWitt County during times of emergency or disaster.

The Friendship Center is also a Peace Meal congregate and home-delivery site. Peace Meals are available weekly, Monday through Friday.
