WARMING CENTER | OPEN DOOR MISSION
Warming center available on days when temperatures are below freezing (32 degrees Fahrenheit). Men, women, and families are welcome to the space without residing in the center itself. Lunch and dinner are available to guests at 12 pm and 6 pm. All guests will have access to any Open Door Mission partner agencies on-site.
Must complete intake if staying overnight.

Village Hall serves as a temporary warming/cooling center during extreme weather, during regular business hours.

WARMING/COOLING CENTER | RIVER VALLEY METRO MASS TRANSIT DISTRICT
Buses act as free cooling and warming stations during extreme weather during normal business hours. Anyone who needs a place to stay warm or cool is encouraged to use these buses as warming/cooling centers or to ride a bus to a safe location.
Stations:
- Warming: When the wind chill is zero or below, rides on all local fixed route buses are free
- Cooling: When the heat index is 100 degrees or higher, rides on all local fixed route buses are free

For persons in the community who experience homelessness, housing instability, mental illness, substance use, or extreme poverty.
Provides:
-- Safe, hospitable environment.
-- Protection from the elements.
-- Showers/hygiene.
-- Laundry.
-- Mail delivery and postage for client's correspondence.
-- Socialization.
-- Access to telephone and messages.
-- Nurse practitioner through Crossing Healthcare.
-- Connection to community resources, i.e., basic needs, food, shelter/housing, clothing, medical needs, job opportunities.
Also acts as a warming and cooling center for people during extreme weather.

Emergency 24 hour temporary shelter during winter months November 1st through April 30th. No drinking or drugs allowed at the shelters (cannot bring in alcohol, drugs, or weapons) but persons who are intoxicated are not turned away.
The Warming Shelter in Sioux City offers a temporary emergency shelter for people who do not have a warm place to stay out of the cold and winter weather. It is open from November 1st to April 30th annually.
Welcomes any and all who are in need of shelter, provides support necessary to help these individuals get their lives on track, provides shelter, food, and hope, stability, and finally help them on a path to reintegrate into the community and become a contributor to the region.
