Cold Weather Shelter "Cold Cots": During the winter months when the temperatures are severely cold, the cold weather shelter opens expanding the 30 bed men's shelter to handle an additional 20 men providing them with a cot, a meal, and access to showers while space is available.

During periods of extreme weather, the center serves as a warming or cooling center, offering a heated or air-conditioned environment to protect individuals from extreme cold or heat. Water and other liquids are available to prevent dehydration.
The center is not a shelter or food bank.

Sleeping space is shared with other families from 8 pm-7:30 am, assigned beds with limited privacy. Individuals must go to the screening location, 307 South Neil Street, Champaign, IL each night between 7 pm-7:30 pm to determine eligibility and approval.

Lunch and dinner are available to guests. All guests will have access to any Open Door Mission partner agencies on-site.
Must complete intake if staying overnight.
Suspension of services will be lifted temporarily to provide safe shelter during winter weather advisories. Mats on floor will be utilized if at capacity.
