Advises and aids veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits through compensation or pension claims. Emergency financial assistance for basic necessities such as rent, mortgage interests payments, utilities, burial expense and grave markers may be available. Can also assists with applications for benefits made available by federal, state or local laws.

Assists home owners or renters who have a disconnect notice or have missed a payment on a pay arrangement. Can also assist homeowners who have a back bill. If funds are available, households may receive emergency assistance with furnace repair/replacement (if a homeowner) and/or emergency delivery of deliverable fuel.

Clients need to have been LIHEAP approved during our program year (October 1 through April 30) or they can complete a crisis application.

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Persons applying must meet 200% poverty guidelines.

LIHEAP also offers a crisis program that may be able to assist homeowners who are with no heat or limited heat during the off months of the LIHEAP program (May-September). The furnace component for crisis runs October 1-April 30th.

Provides medical care, food, clothing, rent, fuel, utilities, hospital and funeral expenses to eligible veterans. Applicants must bring DD214 form or discharge papers, marriage certificates and birth certificates of children under 18 years of age at first application. Also provides assistance with Veterans Affairs applications and forms

Provides monthly financial assistance to persons who do not have adequate income or resources to provide for their own basic needs. Funds may be disbursed for specific basic maintenance needs such as shelter (rental/mortgage assistance), utilities, food, clothing, household supplies, personal essentials, and laundry.

General Assistance eligibility is re-determined monthly, by appointment, and as long as the recipient maintains his/her eligibility, they may continue to receive a monthly General Assistance grant.

Utility assistance program for NPPD customers in Nebraska and South Dakota. Available October through April, funds permitting. Assistance is limited to $225 once every 12 months and all payments are made directly to NPPD.

Applications are completed online via Dollar Energy Funds MyApp application portal or by visiting a participating assistance agency. The list of agencies can be located by visiting https://www.hardshiptools.org/AgencyFinder.aspx

Donated funds are used to assist low-income people (with proof of need) with small emergencies. Utility bills and rent are occasionally paid by the agency.

Provides energy assistance to those in need.

Assists with LIHEAP, or the Low-Income Home Energey Assistance Program, applications. LIHEAP supplements the high cost of winter heating for low-income households, provides emergency furnace repairs or replacement for income-qualifying homeowners. Households with income levels at or below 200% of the poverty level are eligible for benefits. Applicants are served on a first-come first serve basis. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Bring completed application, along with any other required documents, to your local Operation Threshold office. Applications can be picked up at the office.

Applications are accepted on a first come/first served basis starting October 1st for individuals 60 years of age or older, or persons with a disability. All other individuals may apply November 1st or after. Applications are accepted up to and including April 30th the following year. **This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

These funds can be used to pay one month rent (no deposits) for those in danger of being evicted from their home due to nonpayment of rent. Assistance is also available to help with water bills.

Community Response is designed to reduce unnecessary involvement of child welfare and juvenile justice while increasing the informal and community supports for youth and families. By utilizing Central Navigation, the goal is to coordinate existing resources and match participants with a resource to either solve an immediate need or develop a longer-term coaching relationship.
