The board of medicine only regulates physicians (M.D./D.O.) acupuncturist and genetic counselors. The Board does not have the authority to get involved in some matters, such as complaints involving health care professionals regulated by other agencies and complaints against hospitals, nursing homes and insurance companies. The Board cannot be involved in suing a licensee for damages or settling disputes over billing or disability ratings.

Offers services to investigate and process claims related to unpaid wages, vacation pay, unpaid expenses, unauthorized deductions, minimum wage violations, and other employment-related concerns. The Iowa Division of Labor advocates for fair workplace practices and addresses issues such as equal pay standards, minimum wage requirements, and worker rights. Additionally, individuals can report poaching crimes by contacting 800-532-2020. Mechanisms are in place to address consumer complaints related to these issues and assist in achieving satisfactory resolutions.
