For Thanksgiving 2024, Thanksgiving Day meal served from 12 pm-12:30 pm and 6:30 pm-7 pm.

For Christmas 2024, Christmas day meal served from 12 pm-12:30 pm and 6:30 pm-7 pm.

For Thanksgiving 2025:

A free Thanksgiving meal from the MLK Center is offered to the entire Quad Cities community.

Fri, Nov 21st, 12 pm-5 pm (drive-through only).

Sat, Nov 22nd, 11 am-5 pm (drive-through and 25 meal minimum delivery).

Sun, Nov 23rd, 12 pm-4 pm (dine-in only).

For meals, arrive in the parking lot and tell staff how many meals are needed. Meals include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce and dessert.

Curbside service is available at the MLK Center while supplies last.

Provides holiday food assistance to those in need.

Thanksgiving 2025 bonus items will be offered during regular shopping hours to registered clients during the month of November.

Christmas 2025 assistance available with traditional Christmas Meal Box and Christmas Gifts for Kids to registered clients in December. December Blessings registration begins on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Deadline ends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Pickup is Friday, December 12, 2025

To qualify:

If client has used this pantry's services for the last three months and resides in the Waukee School District and has recently provided a proof of residency and identification for each person in their household, they may already be qualified; please complete an online application. If this is the first time applying for assistance or client's information in WayPoint Resources system is not current, client must bring required documents to the WayPoint Resources office during food pantry hours within 10 days of submitting an application.

If client already applied at another agency:

If client has been approved or expects to be approved with another agency for their holiday program, client will be disqualified from this program. This includes, but is not limited to, West Des Moines Human Services, Toys for Tots, Shop with a Cop, Angel Tree Programs and other food or gift giveaway programs.

**Applicants are not qualified for the program until identification for each person, and proof of residency is confirmed.

Once approved, applicants will receive an email confirmation with pick up instructions, including date and time. If applicant has not received an email confirmation, please contact WayPoint Resources at [email protected] or (515) 987-5523. Please bring a photo ID in order to receive dinner boxes and gifts.

If client cannot make the assigned date and time for pick up, another family member or friend can pick up on their behalf. Please call and let WayPoint Resources know who has permission to pick up items, or make other arrangements. If client does not pick up items or make other arrangements for pick-up, their items will be given to families on the waiting list. Failure to pick up may disqualify client's family from future programs.

Limited financial aid for emergency situations including utility deposits, rent, prescription medications, glasses, clothing, school supplies, holiday assistance, transportation, birth certificate retrieval, Iowa identification, books for GED testing, etc.

To be eligible, applicants must have primary custody of the children being signed up, must be a resident of Carroll County, have children ages 14 and under, and be on New Opportunities' programs. If applicant is approved, they will receive a letter specifying when unwrapped gifts may be picked up in December. Forms must be completed and returned to the Outreach Center on or before November 10th.]

Provides a "Toy Store" for families who are unable to buy Christmas presents for their children due to their economic conditions.

Provides special meals during the holiday season.

Holiday Families provides support to families during the holidays, in partnership with community organizations.

For Thanksgiving/Christmas 2024, Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gift distribution programs and dates and times vary by location. Families are encouraged to contact their local office for details.

Provides Christmas gifts and clothing to families struggling due to financial hardship. Families fill out personalized wish lists for each of their children.

Collects toys and distributes them to needy families. Children ages 0-14 are eligible.

Application Response Dates:

Campaign begins reviewing and responding to applications on October 20, 2024, and will complete review and response on December 6, 2024.

Applicants must bring the following with them when applying:

-- Proof of residency: current utility or phone bill, letter from Health and Human Services, vehicle registration or driver's license

-- Proof of children: children's birth certificates or current Medicaid card and Social Security card

-- Proof of household income: pay stub for the last 30 days, current Medicaid letter, current food stamp card or current ADC eligibility letter.

Advocates for people with developmental disabilities and/or intellectual delays and their families, through partnership, leadership, and individual choice; policy advocates raise awareness, increase and improve services and opportunities, and help direct funding into community-based programs.

Annual Christmas Party in December at the Bettendorf Community Center for all special-needs populations.

Scholarships of up to $250 annually for individuals with intellectual delay for leisure activities.

Delivery is available to ONLY Cedar Rapid residents who are housebound. Must provide address. Deliveries will be made on December 24, 2024, (11 am-1 pm) Call the church to register.

City of Carlisle Beggar's Night.

Provides food for the entire family at Christmas time and toys for younger children in the family.

Benton County Angel Tree provides holiday assistance for Benton County residents infant to age 14. Registrants may call Macey Stout to set up an appointment at (319) 721-6675. Registration runs Oct 28 - Nov 25, 2024.

Solicits monetary donations to purchase specifically requested toys for less fortunate children in Lincoln, Nebraska, ages 1-13 for Christmas.

Works with social service agencies in Lincoln, Nebraska to qualify families.

The National Guard provides volunteers to help sort applications and distribute toys.

Food pantry with dry goods, meat, dairy, etc. May be able to accommodate other needs.

Offers Thanksgiving food boxes, available on a first come, first served basis.
