For the 2025 holidays:

Food baskets provided in December (delivered Sat, Dec 20, 2025). Call Sat, November 8, 2025, 9 am-2 pm to register. Call on this date only.

Matches low-income families with organizations that want to adopt a family for Christmas. Families provide a list of the wants/needs of the children. Registration runs November 3-7, 2025, from 10 am-4 pm and on November 8, 2025, from 10 am-2 pm.

Distributes a Thanksgiving holiday meal box.

**Not offering a Christmas dinner this year 2025**

Provides a Christmas Eve dinner from 12 pm-2 pm to persons in need. Sign-up begin December 1 2024, and continues until the event is full. Please call the church or email Lu to register.

Delivery is available to ONLY Cedar Rapid residents who are housebound. Must provide address. Deliveries will be made on December 24, 2024, (11 am-1 pm) Call the church to register.

Provides Christmas food baskets to families in need.

City of Pleasant Hill Beggar's Night.

Provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the year. Special holiday meals are offered at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Breakfast Mon-Sun: 7:30 am, Lunch Mon-Sun: 11:30 am, Dinner Mon-Sun: 5 pm, at chapel.

Thanksgiving Meal Wednesday before Thanksgiving: 12 pm.

Christmas Meal Christmas Eve Day 12 pm.

Easter Meal Easter Sunday: 12 pm.

For Christmas 2024:

Christmas gifts for households with minors ages 13-17.

Online applications are from Oct 31-Nov 21. Apply at www.saangeltree.org

Required documents include state ID, proof of address, proof of income, and birth certificates for minors.

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

2025

Offers gifts and food to those in need for the Christmas 2025 holiday. Reach out to the local County Outreach Office for more information regarding holiday help in the area.

For Thanksgiving 2025:

Offers a free meal delivered to older adults, 60 years of age or older (homebound or alone) on Thanksgiving Day. Meal consists of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, and more.

Reservations accepted Nov 3 to Nov 20, 2025.

Callers must speak with someone to make a reservation; no voice messages will be accepted. Phone lines are open on weekdays from 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-4 pm.

Meal deliver occurs on Thanksgiving dinner. Applicant must be home to receive the meal (no meals will be left at the door).

Specific delivery times cannot be scheduled. Cannot feed families.

Offers an invitation to individuals to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with others each year, usually the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Christmas 2025:

Christmas assistance registration opens Oct 14, 2025. Offers Christmas food baskets and the Angel Tree Program.

For Christmas 2025:

As of 11/20/25, no longer accepting applications but community members may still call and see if the office might have extra gift cards to Dollar Fresh and Family Fare grocery stores in Richardson County for food for the families (distributed on December 14th).

Holiday Gift and Food Basket applications may be picked up at the SENCA office in Falls City or Humboldt, starting October 28th, 2024. No applications will be accepted after November 15th at 4 pm.

Parents visit the Salvation Army in Hastings to sign up their families to receive toys and food. Sign-up starts Mon, Nov 3 and ends Tue, November 25.

Thanksgiving Dinner will be provided Thursday, November 27, 2025., 12 pm-1:30 pm at Community of Christ Church, 140 West Kanesville Blvd.


Meals are available for eat-in or delivery by reservation only. Available to Council Bluffs and local Iowa residents.

Reservations are required and must be made by phone between November 10-21, Mon-Fri 9 am-3 pm. Call St. Albert's High School at (402) 671-5202.

For Christmas 2025:

The Christmas Store offers presents at affordable prices to families in need.

The store will be open Thu, Dec 11 (6 pm-8 pm), Fri, Dec 12 (9:30 am-8 pm), and Sat, Dec 13 (9:30 am-11 am).

Families select their shopping time at registration.

Applicants must be the legal guardian of each child being registered, and the child must live in the applicant's home.

Holiday food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas Toy Shopping.

For Thanksgiving & Christmas 2025:

The 2025 Thanksgiving Food Basket Giveaway is held at the PCM Help Center (6800 P Street, Lincoln) on Saturday, 11/22/25. Giving away 500 Thanksgiving meal baskets to those in need, beginning at 9 am until supplies run out.

Free Thanksgiving meal Thanksgiving Day 2025 at People's City Mission (110 Q Street, Lincoln). Serving a full Thanksgiving meal to not only all of the homeless in Lincoln, but to anyone who would otherwise be alone on Thanksgiving and could use a meal. Serving at 11 am-2 pm on Thanksgiving Day. Expecting to serve around 700 meals.

Santa's Workshop Christmas Toy Giveaway for families in need will be held at the People's City Mission Help Center (6800 P Street, Lincoln) on Saturday, 12/13/25 from 10 am-12 pm. Anticipating to help over 5,000 people, including shelter guests and low-income families who shop at the Help Center. Shoppers will need to have a Clarity card to participate. Clarity cards can be obtained at the Help Center each Tuesday from 9-11 am. No appointment necessary.

For Thanksgiving 2025, Thanksgiving Day meal served from 12 pm-12:30 pm and 6:30 pm-7 pm.

For Christmas 2025, Christmas day meal served from 12 pm-12:30 pm and 6:30 pm-7 pm.

Provides food for the entire family at Christmas time and toys for children age 13 and younger. Only available to Northern Champaign County residents. Must provide proof of income for the last 30 days. Proof of address needed for all members of the household (For example, Medicaid card, report card, daycare letter, doctors bill, etc.)

Registration begins November 3-22, 2025, Mon-Fri 10 am-4 pm, Sat 9 am-12 pm. Please visit office and provided necessary documents.
