Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging

Provides services coordination/case management to those disabled and/or older adults who meet nursing facility level of care for the Medicaid Waiver Program. This program is based upon the belief that people with care needs should have options for receiving services. Potential participants will meet with a staff person to determine needs and develop a care plan. Eligible persons are offered the choice of receiving home and community-based services or nursing facility care.

The Waiver allows Medicaid money to be used to purchase the following services that are not usually considered 'medical': Personal Care, Companion Care, Chore Services, Adult Day Services, Independence Skills Management, Personal Emergency Response System, Respite Care, Assisted Living Services, Assistive Technology and Home Modifications.

Offers an educational course on home buying for those looking to become more knowledgeable in purchasing a new home. Lessons focus on preparing for home ownership, shopping for a home, securing a mortgage, closing the loan, and being a home owner. Upon completion of the lessons, individuals may earn a homebuyer's certificate to take to your local lender. To earn a homebuyer's certificate, complete all six lessons and taking/passing the final test earns a homebuyer’s certificate. Many home loan programs require completion of a homebuyer course to qualify for a loan. Participants may access the course any time of day from any computer with Internet access.
