Cheyenne County Offices
County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year.
State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition.
Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health - Waukon
Provides assistance to adults with serious mental health conditions who are Medicaid beneficiaries in coordinating and managing their health and mental health care services. The program provides support and assistance for clients in identifying goals and working with the healthcare team to ensure that the needs of the client are met. Services include coordinating the client's primary and specialty care providers, coordinating the care provided in the hospital, clinic, and the community, and access to a Peer Support Specialist who have experienced living with mental illness.

Provides home-delivered meals to seniors or disabled individuals who are homebound. Meals can be either warm or frozen, depending on location within Will County (with some clients able to choose between the two options). Warm meals are delivered daily during the week, and frozen meals are delivered in boxes of 5 on Monday.
