Assists in the Library and Archives Research. Whether researching as an author, educator, student, reporter, curator, archeologist, preservationist, historian or genealogist, research materials are provided on microfilm, and books. Most books are browsable on the shelves. Patrons who are interested in accessing the State Archives and Special Collections or Library materials that are not on the open stacks are encouraged to make an appointment and advise staff two business days in advance about the materials they would like to research. Locates and pays for medical services to children with major medical problems. Child must be medically and financially eligible. Diagnostic services can be considered.
Services includes payment for medical care, hospitalization, specific equipment, and other services. Potential Disabled Children's Program services include transportation, lodging, and respite care.

Provides a comprehensive child development programs which serve children from birth to age five and ages 3-4 years. The programs are child-focused and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families. Program provides a range of individualized services in the area of education, medical, dental and mental health, nutrition and social service to children and their families. Morning and Afternoon classes are offered. Half days are 3 1/2 hours a day and full days are 6 1/2 hours a day. Classes provided 4 days a week with no school on Wednesdays. NO before or after school child care is provided.

AARP Tax-Aide - Rock Island Senior Center
Provides free income tax return preparation for taxpayers earning up to $67,000 annually. Helps working families take advantage of all eligible tax credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC) and education credits. Volunteers from the community help prepare basic, current-year tax returns for eligible taxpayers.
Tax preparation is offered primarily in-person by appointment, with an option for walk-in services at the Martin Luther King Community Center (Rock Island).
