Dove, Inc

The shelter offers basic necessities, support services such as domestic assault hotlines, domestic violence support groups, and counseling. Additionally, the program connects individuals with legal services, including guidance, representation in court proceedings, and assistance with legal complexities such as restraining orders, child custody, visitation, property control, and other civil or criminal actions related to domestic violence. Support is also available for victims navigating issues like restitution, payment of debts, or cases involving accusations of abuse within families.

Rape Advocacy, Counseling & Education Services
Medical Advocacy:
Trained advocates respond to local hospitals 24-hours a day. They can accompany a survivor through the evidence collection and medical treatment process. Advocates provide support, give information about options and rights, and assist with safety planning.
Legal Advocacy:
Legal advocates can assist with navigating the civil and criminal justice process. This includes assistance in filing for Civil No Contact and Stalking No Contact Orders. They can also help individuals assert their rights as crime survivors and accompany them to meetings with officials and court hearings.
American Red Cross - Central Iowa Chapter
Provides assistance to individuals and families affected by a natural disaster. Disaster services include sheltering, feeding, physical and mental health services. Physical and mental health services are also provided to those seeking refuge from a fire, hurricane or flood - or in the wake of a tornado, earthquake, or hazardous materials incident.

Mid-Sioux Opportunity Outreach Office - Lyon County
Assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households.
LIHEAP also offers a crisis program that may be able to assist homeowners who are with no heat or limited heat. The furnace component for crisis runs October 1-April 30th.

Bikers Against Child Abuse - Abe Lincoln Chapter
Provides several individualized services in order to deter child abuse. Services provided:
- When first contacted, several members of BACA will ride to the child's house and present the child with a patch, stickers, and a photograph of the child with their new biker family. Two bikers are assigned to the child as their primary contacts.
- If abuse or harassment continues, members will create a presence at the home, being visible at times when the family may be most vulnerable.
- Court appearances are also available. Assigned bikers will appear in order to provide support for the child and reduce fear about testifying against their abuser.
Other services available:
- Providing escorts if the child feels unsafe.
- Riding by the child's home on a regular basis.
- Staying with children if they are alone or frightened.
- On-site support if needed, for the child's reassurance.
