Provides mental health counseling and case management services to youth, young men and women, and their minor children who are serviced through Youth Services Network’s homeless programs. Our goal is to improve the youth’s mental health and well-being so they are able to maintain and sustain long term safe housing.

Provides a 4 x 8 garden plot for adoption. Adoption means planting vegetables, weeding, watering, and harvesting. Mt Pleasant Community Garden is located at 211 S Jackson Street – across from Sarah’s Bridal. Must clear out garden plot after the season is over.

Mentor Iowa
Provides trained volunteer mentors to at-risk children in need of a positive adult role model, by working in partnership with the children, their families and the community. Programs include: ONE-ON-ONE PROGRAM: matches a volunteer mentor with a Child in Need of Assistance or through a referral from our local school districts. Mentor Iowa works directly with the Department of Human Services (DHHS), Juvenile Court Services and local school districts who identify children who could benefit from having a mentor. EARLY SERVICES PROJECT (ESP) -Working with Juvenile Court Services, Orchard Place Child Guidance Center, and the Des Moines Public School District, Mentor Iowa provides mentoring services to children, ages 4 – 11, who have committed a minor delinquent act. TRANSITION PROGRAM - A collaboration with JCS, Des Moines Public School District and Sequel Care. Mentor Iowa provides mentoring services to teens, ages 14 and up, who are reentering the community after an out of home placement due to a crime they committed. TRUANCY COURT - A collaboration with Truancy Court, Des Moines Public Schools and the Polk County Attorney’s office. Mentor Iowa volunteers are matched with referred middle school students who have a history of truancy. GIRL POWER - a program for females between the ages of 11 through 16. Girl Power is designed to provide a forum for young women to interact with each other and discuss areas of common concern. Issues addressed include: career exploration, substance use and abuse, gangs and violence and sexuality and healthy decision making. The mentors of these young women are encouraged to participate in the Girl Power program.

Provides dental care to children ages 0-15 from low income families covered by Medicaid or Hawk-I. Children without dental insurance are qualified according to a sliding fee scale.

Addresses nuisance complaints and complaints regarding solid waste, weeds, and junk cars.
Services include air pollution and noise monitoring, rodent and pest surveillance, radon and indoor air information (radon kits available for a small fee), and free well testing.
Issues permits and licensing for tanning beds, swimming pools, spas, septic systems, tattoo services, and wells.
Champaign-Urbana Public Health District
Provides a food assistance program for women, infants, and children. Program helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well and stay healthy.

WIC Farmers' Market Program:
Eligible WIC participants receive summer farmers' market vouchers.

Foster care services for children.
Foster parent recruitment in the Omaha, northern, and southwestern service areas of Nebraska. Foster parents can be married or single individuals who have an interest in helping children and families. Foster parents are provided initial and ongoing training to assist in providing care for their foster children, and are assigned a NOVA TC Foster Care Specialist who provides support through home visits and case management services. Foster Care Specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Emergency operations center for the County, which handles emergency response incidents, including accidents, fires, floods, storms and other disasters. Also responsible for requesting federal assistance after a disaster.
