Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Assistance may also be available for a limited period of time to the children of a parent looking for employment. APPLY TO BE A REGISTERED CHILD CARE PROVIDER. - Guardianship of adults to ensure health care.

- Powers of attorney and other advance directives.

- SSI and social security denials, cessations, terminations, overpayments, and garnishments.

Provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services to veterans. Services include treatment for addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and OCD.

Hair pieces for financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

To donate hair, use the following guidelines:

- 10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for donation;

- Hair must be in a ponytail or braid before it is cut;

- Hair must be clean and completely dry before it is mailed in;

- Place the ponytail or braid inside of a plastic bag, and then inside of a padded envelope;

- Fill out the hair donation form, or write name and address on a separate sheet of paper and include inside the envelope.

Provides rent and utility assistance for those in need.

Carpenter's Place has a wide range of volunteer opportunities; some have interaction with homeless guests, others do not. Opportunities may include providing mentoring, transportation, and life skills training for the residents in the Permanent Supportive Housing program or providing mentoring, tutoring, life skills training, transportation, mock interviews, etc. for Transitional Housing residents.

Offers a book giving program that mails free books to children from birth to age five. To help increase literacy skills, encourage school readiness, and engage children in one of the most fundamental skills necessary to succeed in life – Reading!

The books will arrive about 8-10 weeks after registration has been approved.
