DHS Family Community Resource Center - Henry County
Reimburses for funeral and burial expenses when a person's resources and all other sources of payment are less than the DHS standard payment rates. The maximum amount that DHS will pay is $1370 for a funeral and $686 for a cremation/burial.

Voluntary detoxification program for male and female clients age 19 and older who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in a stage of withdrawal.24-hour nursing staff is available. Clients may stay for three to five days and have the opportunity to visit with a counselor/case manager. Short term residential care offers a 30-90 days residential substance abuse treatment program for men, 19 years and older, who have an evaluation recommending a residential level of treatment. Intermediate residential care offers a long-term (3-9 month average)residential substance abuse treatment program for men, 19 years and older, who have a history of chronic substance abuse and have failed other treatment programs. The goal is to return the client to a life without substance abuse and to be able to re-enter our community. Respite offers 1-7 day stay for adult males or females, 19 years and older, who are in crisis but not a danger to themselves or others and are in need of stabilization. Outpatient individual therapy is available to men and women 19 years and older dealing with substance use.

Website, YourLifeYourVoice.org, offers an online resource for kids/teens where they can communicate with trained counselors four different ways - by text, email, online chat, or by calling the Hotline. The website also offers tips on how to deal with challenging situations, a bulletin board where teens ask questions regarding different topics that are answered by counselors and then posted so others can read and relate, and journal pages where teens can download and print worksheets to help them work through issues and create solutions.

Forensic interviews when requested by law enforcement or Child Protective Services. A child interview specialist will conduct a video-taped forensic interview with the child. One of the goals of this interview is to reduce the number of times the child must tell the story of his/her abuse.
Medical exams to evaluate children who are suspected to have been abused or neglected.
Assessment and referrals by mental health professionals, who assess each child’s needs and refer them to the appropriate therapy, support groups, and other resources. Families also receive help in “understanding the system”.
Multidisciplinary teams consisting of law enforcement, Child Protective Services, medical professionals, prosecution, school personnel, Project Harmony staff, and other professionals regularly review cases to make certain children do not fall through the cracks. Teams work toward making changes and finding solutions to any problems in reporting and investigating child abuse, permanency, treatment, and system issues.
Anyone can refer a case to the teams; call and include:
- The child's name.
- Date of birth.
- School.
- Protective Service Worker's name.
- The reason for the referral.
