This annual holiday event is free for children in foster care, adopted from foster care, kinship placement, relative placement and other children living in the foster household.

Registration is required and will close when full. Please visit website for more information regarding dates and registration forms. Winter Wonderland Holiday Celebration toy distribution Sunday, December 14th, 2025, from 10 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm.

Event held at Hawkeye Downs Expo Hall, 4400 Sixth Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Each child must be registered online via the website, keep a lookout for dates. Register early as this event fills up quickly. To donate to the toy drive, the deadline is Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025. Drop off location is 6000 7th St SW in Cedar Rapids.

Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center

Serves adult males with Chemical Dependency problems and other life issues. The primary function of the Adult Rehabilitation Center is the rehabilitation of men mentally, physically, and spiritually. It provides participants the opportunity to regain a considerable measure of self-mastery, and acquire such moral and spiritual principles of conduct and habits of industry as to enable him to take his rightful place in society. Work Therapy is an important part of this program, providing the men with the opportunity to gain stability, purpose, and a sense of earning responsibility and improve work habits. The spiritual program is the religious meetings that are held in the centers, including: Morning Worship and devotions, Bible class, Mid-Week services, Sunday Morning Chapel Service, Christian Living class.

Services for people with an intellectual disability and who may also have a physical disability. The program consists of Residential Care Facility-Intellectual Disability (RCF-ID) licensed group homes housing eight individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Staff provide supervision, instruction, and assistance in community living. Residents receive 24-hour supervision and assistance and must participate in daily work or day habilitation services.

Offers community services to both children and adults with autism. Services include: YOUTH COMMUNITY SERVICES offers programs for children with autism and works to meet their diverse needs. Accept Medicaid waivers and private pay. ADULT COMMUNITY SERVICES program for adults with autism uses an individualized treatment plan based on the client's needs. Embrace Iowa is a project through the Des Moines Register that is administered by Community Action Agencies in the state and is only accessible during a certain time period. Requests that are considered for this project may include beds, clothing, car repairs, medical expenses (including pharmacy, dental and corrective lenses), furniture, rent, utilities, home repairs, household items, appliances, and miscellaneous other things (computer, etc.) If there is not a service available to assist someone, this could be a possibility for them to apply for these funds during this time period. The maximum dollar amount awarded per household is $750.

Stairways: An advanced group for those who have completed the STEPPs group. The group teaches a variety of emotional and behavioral management skills that build off of foundations learned in STEPPs.
