Offers counseling services to families, groups, and individuals. In addition, the practice may offer Teletherapy services for people who cannot travel to the office. Types of counseling services available include: Adolescent/youth, bereavement/grief, child abuse, child sexual abuse, crime victim/witness, divorce, eating disorders, gender identity, health/disability related, internet addiction, marriage, miscarriage, over-spender, parent counseling, post-abortion, premarital, sexual orientation, sexuality, spouse/domestic partner abuse, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

Provides experiential learning to a diverse, urban-based population through classroom-based leadership curricula, challenge-course programs, and front-country expeditions. Activities include teambuilding, indoor and outdoor rock climbing, mindfulness, canoeing, biking, camping and high and low ropes challenge courses.

Four Mile and Pioneer Columbus Recreation Centers will help families sign up for 2024 Toys for Tots during the holiday season. Registration begins Nov. 1, 2024, and goes through Nov 30, 2024. Gift pick-ups are Mon Dec. 16, 2024, from 12 pm- 6 pm; Tue Dec. 17, 2024, from 3 pm-8 pm and Dec. 18, 2024, from 12 pm-6 pm at the center where families register.

Maintains county parks and recreation areas and provides human safety classes, camping, fishing and boating information. Outdoor recreational opportunities are available through county parks and outdoor wildlife areas.

Provides service coordination, nutrition services, and health assessments for children ages 0-3 enrolled in Early ACCESS (Early intervention for infants and toddlers). 

Offers a statewide program that allows patients access to medical marijuana who meet one of the qualifying conditions. The Illinois Department of Public Health manages the registry by reviewing and processing applications and issuing registry cards to Illinois residents meeting program requirements. 

Offers meals on a contribution basis for people over 60 years of age. The actual cost for the meal is $8.10, people under 60 must pay the actual cost. Congregate Meal Locations Currently Open can be found on the website: www.nei3a.org

Offers mental health evaluations. Services include anxiety disorders screening, clinical psychiatric evaluation, depression screening, early intervention for mental illness, gambling addiction screening, and general mental health screening.

Offers law enforcement services to the Lee County area. Issues gun/firearm permits, runs requested background checks, and manages the county Jail.

Provides temporary homes for children of families in crisis. Services allow parents an opportunity to resolve a temporary crisis while reducing risk of abuse, neglect, and isolation for children. Connects families with a family friend, who offers a healthy relational support as the family navigates the situation. Also connects the family with a family coach, who can provide linkage to services in the community and set goals to reach a place of stability. 

Provides emergency food services for families in crisis, offering a 3 to5 day food supply. When available may also pick up bread, meat and seasonally available produce

Provides communicable disease surveillance (influenza, TB, whooping cough, foodborne illnesses, water related illnesses, Lyme Disease, other infectious diseases).

Provides structured therapy groups or other interventions which help recovering drug and/or excessive alcohol users make the cognitive, behavioral and attitudinal changes that are necessary to prevent them from returning to their previous patterns of use. 

The program helps participants deal in a very focused way with a wide variety of issues that have an impact on their commitment to sobriety and may include topics like exercise, nutrition, boredom, addictive behavior, looking forward, work and recovery, guilt and shame, the role of 12-step programs, staying busy, truthfulness, trust, repairing relationships, anger management, money management and dealing with feelings.

Surveillance and investigation of communicable diseases are an ongoing function of Mills County Public Health (MCPH). Contact MCPH for questions concerning communicable diseases.

Provides telehealth for individuals, couples, and family therapy, mental health evaluations, and psychiatric medication management for anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, behavior problems, relationship problems, personality disorders, and chronic mental illness.

Offers a food pantry and food baskets.
