Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services of Southeast Iowa - Burlington

Provides structured therapy groups or other interventions which help recovering drug and/or excessive alcohol users make the cognitive, behavioral and attitudinal changes that are necessary to prevent them from returning to their previous patterns of use. 

The program helps participants deal in a very focused way with a wide variety of issues that have an impact on their commitment to sobriety and may include topics like exercise, nutrition, boredom, addictive behavior, looking forward, work and recovery, guilt and shame, the role of 12-step programs, staying busy, truthfulness, trust, repairing relationships, anger management, money management and dealing with feelings.

Dixon PADS Shelter

Provides temporary shelter housing for single men, single women, and families. Men are in separate residences from women and children even if the rest of their family is in the women's shelter. Residents are able to stay at the shelter for a maximum of 6 months as they work on a transition plan for self-sufficiency. The shelter provides referrals and support to residents as they work on their transition plan.

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services - North Platte

State Supplement adds to the benefits of the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program to bring the income of aged and disabled individuals up to the need of standards of Nebraska. Additionally, some persons are not eligible for SSI payments, but qualify for a State Supplement payment because of different standards and regulations.

State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.

Catholic Charities Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program

24 hour emergency shelter and crisis line for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Confidential services include; legal advocacy, individual counseling, housing & economic advocacy, medical advocacy, assistance with protection orders, educational support groups, group counseling, clinical counseling, community outreach and awareness. Call the crisis line for a group intake.

This program is based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and serves nine counties in southwest Iowa.
