Offers emergency shelter for anyone to come stay out of the cold for a night, December through March. Intake time begins daily at 6 pm, must stay the night once checked in, residents will not be allowed back in if leaving after check-in. 

Provides a cohesive partnership among the communities and Fire Departments to reduce the number of fire injuries and deaths, by providing evaluation, education, and redirection assistance to the children who exhibit fire setting behavior at no cost to the families affected. Trained providers will connect a child (or youth) to appropriate resources in the community, this can include fire safety education or professional counseling services when necessary. The WIC and SNAP outreach programs seek to assure that limited-English-proficient immigrants and refugees eligible for WIC and SNAP benefits can successfully access these programs administered by IDHS.

The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) administers this program through a network of community-based partner agencies.

Provides a food pantry which clients may visit weekly.

Connects volunteers with programs, donors of all types, as well as donations of all types to programs and agencies.

Provides general counseling services, including psychiatry and telehealth.

Certified Application Counselors help clients find healthcare coverage that fits their needs.

Helps homeowners and tenants save their homes through available legal strategies, including foreclosure defenses in court, bankruptcy, income generation, loan modification, and various alternatives to foreclosure.

Helps with:

- Subsidized housing (public housing, Section 8 and other rental assistance) evictions, termination of assistance, rent calculations, and admissions issues.

- Evictions from mobile home parks.

- Evictions by private landlords.

- Discrimination and disability accommodation (see Fair Housing Project).

- Foreclosure, property tax, and other homeownership issues.

- Housing protection for seniors, veterans, and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Provides crisis intervention, legal and medical advocacy, support services, case management, and more. Services focus on issues of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Oversees aspects of court-connected family mediation program in the (Iowa) Sixth Judicial District and small claims mediation program in Johnson County (Iowa).

Provides information to parties about mediation, preparing for mediation, how it works.

Provides training to mediators and attorneys about mediation, screening for safety and capacity of parties re: using mediation, screening for appropriateness of mediation in a given situation, etc. Provides CLE relevant primarily to family law attorneys.

Provides Restorative Justice process for parties in diverse cases, as requested.

Recruits and licenses homes for Traditional and Specialized foster care placement in the north-central counties of Illinois.

Foster parents cooperate with the court to set goals that ideally results in the return of the child to their family. If that is not possible, foster parents are asked to commit to permanency for the child.

Specialized foster care programs work to meet the special needs of physically, behaviorally, and emotionally challenged children and the foster families serving them. Provides intensive case management, comprehensive mental health services along with medical, developmental, and educational service specific to the child's needs.

Recruits and prepares adoptive families. Offers services for identified adoptions, foster care adoptions, and post placement services.

Provides contractual home studies for domestic and international adoptions.

Provides child-sensitive interviews and advocacy for families impacted by sexual and severe physical abuse.

Extended outpatient and continuing care services for adults and adolescents. Offers treatment in both group and individual settings.

Emergency financial assistance to help with mortgage, rent, utilities, clothing, medication bills, etc.

Provides law enforcement services to the city.

Offers preschool, day care, and after school programming.

Offers a safe space for individuals experiencing emotional stress or overwhelming symptoms due to live circumstances.

Service may include, emotional support groups, assistance in applying for Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, housing applications, and Social Security and a safe place to enjoy a snack, watch TV, make art, or play a game.

Administers Head Start, a comprehensive developmental preschool program for children. At the three center locations throughout McHenry County, open enrollment is available at any time and emphasis is on school readiness.

Also provided the following classes, parent training, health and dental screening, social services and a nutrition program.

Transportation may be available in certain areas For qualifying families.
