The Getting Ready for Kindergarten Calendar was developed by "Success By 6" (the early childhood initiative of United Way of Champaign County) to help parents and children prepare for kindergarten. Offers activities and tips to help prepare children for kindergarten.

The calendar is filled with ideas, activities and tips for parents and children to read, talk, and play every day.

Calendars are available free of charge to all parents of 4-year olds in Champaign County.

Provides hope to cancer patients and their families. In June 2023, Gems of Hope and its programs joined the Nassif Community Cancer Center and St. Luke’s Foundation. Both the Community Cancer Center and St. Luke’s Foundation are committed to the mission of Gems of Hope and continuing its programs and fundraising efforts to benefit local cancer patients in Eastern Iowa. 

Provides holistic services such as massage, reflexology and healing touch. Also offers numerous programs and retreats on ecology, spirituality and holistic health.

Provides year round community recreation activities throughout the 13 member districts for children and adults with disabilities.

These member districts include Barrington Park District, Cary Park District, Crystal Lake Park District, Dundee Township Park District, City of Elgin, Hampshire Township Park District, Huntley Park District, City of Harvard, Village of Lake in the Hills, Marengo Park District, City of McHenry Wauconda Park District and City of Woodstock.

Provides public housing units and Section 8 housing choice vouchers for use in the community are provided for low to moderate income families, seniors, and people with disabilities. The primary focus is to provide and maintain quality, affordable housing within a safe, stable environment. In addition, the Authority promotes educational, employment, economic development, and self-sufficiency programs and initiatives for the residents to assist them in enhancing and improving their lives.

The program aims to address the needs of eligible Veterans and their families to reduce suicide risk and improve mental health status and well-being by providing wrap-around, nonclinical suicide prevention support services to eligible households.

Provides free tax credit clinics and prepares free federal and state income taxes for low to moderate income households.

When scheduling an appointment, choose a site location and date. All location will be face-to-face; virtual preparation is available in addition to facilitated self-assistance (schedule an appointment under the 'Need Assistance' tab).

If Lincoln Public School and/or UNL is closed due to bad weather, all VITA sites are closed.

The scope of work that can be done within the VITA site is defined by the IRS. If a return is considered "out of scope" for the site, VITA Volunteers will not be able to prepare the return.

Provides a source of education, advocacy and support to the public and the health profession about the causes and prevention. Products and services: Audio/visual, programs, books, educational leaflets, and/or referral service. Does not provide samples of incontinence supplies or any type of financial assistance.

Offers a program that is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy that builds on the normal communicative and learning processes of children. Therapists use this method to help children express what is troubling them when they do not have the verbal language to express their thoughts and feelings.
