Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve children from birth to age five, pregnant women and their families. The programs are child-focused and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.

Both programs provide a range of individualized services in the areas of education, medical, dental and mental health, nutrition and social service to children and their families. Parent involvement is encouraged and support is offered for children with disabilities.

Family medicine community clinic. Services include but are not limited to:

- Pain management.

- Podiatry.

- Counseling services.

- Psychiatric medication.

-- Investigates all reportable diseases occurring in Jo Daviess County in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

-- Tuberculosis skin testing, treatment, and follow up care.

-- Provide individual/community education.

Provides military families who have children with special needs the resources needed to make informed assignment decisions and experience easier transitions. Two types of directories are offered:

- Early Intervention Directory provides information on early intervention services for children birth through 3 years old.

- School-Age Directory provides information on special education services for children ages 3 through 21 years old.

Before school, after school, and full day programs for elementary-age students.

Offers substance abuse screenings, treatment and education classes for charged with Operating While Intoxicated or Driving Under the Influence.

Offers free and age appropriate educational services to children and young adults from pre-school to college levels. Will also present valuable information to churches, civic groups or other organizations, as well as business and industry. Presentations can be tailor-made to suit school or organization’s needs. All programs are completely free.

Offers coordinated services to terminally ill patients and their families in their chosen environment.

Provides a personalized care plan that is based on patient/family goals, needs and desires.

Physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care is available from a medically directed interdisciplinary team consisting of physicians, nurses, therapists, home health aides, social workers, pastors, volunteers, music therapist, massage therapist, or chaplain.

Care plans may include medical care, pain and symptom management.

Provides city government services to the Dayton community.

Provides eye exams and glasses to those in need.

Works to assist girls to develop their potential by learning to make decisions, being accountable for their own actions, and becoming responsible, contributing members of society, emphasizing career exploration and leadership development.

Adult volunteers work directly with girls in troops, as well as advisory and/or planning functions.

Catron Camp and Retreat Center for Girls Scouts from Nebraska and surrounding states, youth groups, businesses and families. Includes three camping areas, a lodge for year-around camping, a physical challenge course with high and low elements, accessible pool, and sports area.
