Provides preventive services include cleanings, fluoride treatments, SDF, and exams.

Offers to assist individuals with disabilities with finding and maintaining work. Individuals that are eligible for this program receive assistance from a Job Coach through a work experience that can last up to 6 months. In addition, individuals in this program receive assistance with resume and cover letter development, applying for work, and mock interviews.

Offers a food pantry with a variety of items. Personal hygiene supplies may also be available. Individuals may only visit once per week. 

Offers apartments covered by a Section 8 Housing Assistance Program contract that preserves affordability.

- Wing Schoolhouse: 27 unit family apartment building in downtown Elgin. The property consists of a combination of studios and rooms with 1-3 bedrooms. The apartment building has on-site parking, landscaped grounds, an outdoor playground, and a laundry room.

- Elgin Manor: 100-unit senior property.

Promotes better citizenship and builds knowledge through instruction and practice in the water. Members learn the following information and skills water safety, boating skills and knowledge of maritime heritage.

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Provide personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents.

State level services do not require wartime service. Completes applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund, fee exempt fishing and hunting permits if eligible, applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes, and waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provides and/or completes Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, vocational rehab, burial allowance, grave Markers/headstones, educational benefits G.I. Bill Chapter 30, certificate 9 eligibility for VA home loan, insurance, and character of service upgrades.

Offers a program for parents and youth individuals ages 10-14 to work together and build relationships. Participants will practice skills, play learning games, and do family projects in highly interactive sessions. Sessions are designed to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and solve problems together. 

Provides emergency assistance with rent, utilities, mortgage, medications, and other needs.

Not an emergency shelter.

Offers safe housing opportunities for women in domestic violence, human trafficking, addiction situations, codependency healing, and addiction rehab. Open ended shelter program for women in crisis. Offers classes, bible studies, job search assistance, and help in locating an apartment and furnishing it. Also provides Christ-centered individual counseling (online and in person), and a faith-based addiction class.

Offers clothing (infant to adult), kitchen and household items, furniture, home décor, books, toys and baby items. Availability of items depends on what has been donated. Donations are accepted during store hours. Appliances, tires, computers and televisions are not accepted. Everything But The Baby is a consignment store within the thrift shop.

Provides practical information for anyone to access in the areas served. Education services include agriculture, horticulture, family and consumer economics, nutrition and wellness, and youth development. The website has information about different programming options available.

Provides scholarships to assist CSBG eligible low-income undergraduate students with tuition costs. Students must be undergraduates, residents of Macon County, and attend an accredited school in Illinois. Applications are usually taken in June for the Fall semester. If possible, scholarships are distributed early, so the funds can be used to cover the initial cost of tuition that must be paid by the student before school starts.
