Emergency financial assistance for basic necessities such as rent or mortgage interest payments, utilities and food may be available for Veterans and their dependents. Can also assists with applications for benefits made available by federal, state or local laws.

Provides rides to medical appointments to the VA Hospital in either Knoxville or Des Moines. Call at least 5 days ahead with the date of appointment and the time and location.

CHOICES Drop-In Center - Washington

Offers a community-based service provided to adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Services are designed to provide an opportunity to stabilize in a safe, comfortable, and controlled environment. Provided by trained crisis response staff, clients are able to connect with appropriate services and resources with hopes of preventing hospitalization and/or court involvement. ​Crisis Stabilization Residential Services work with the client to establish services such as assistance meeting basic human needs, medication administration, support, and monitoring, crisis intervention services, personal and peer support, social skills development, leisure time, and vocational rehabilitation. Protection and advocacy, service coordination and transportation are also available. The Crisis Stabilization Residential Service is limited to five consecutive days.

Mosaic - Northeast Nebraska

Intermittent services to maintain or increase independent living skills.  For people who live in their own apartments, staff provide personalized supports including assistance with banking, grocery shopping, medical appointments and accessing their communities.  The amount of support is guided in partnership with staff and is documented in the Individual Program Plan.  Also provides respite services as an additional support to families.  Typically, people served are eligible for Supported Residential Services if they do not require staffing 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
