Provides respite care services give temporary relief to the usual caregivers and provide all the necessary care the usual caregiver would provide during that time period for both adult and children.

Provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services to veterans. Services include treatment for addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and OCD.

Medical case management services to help persons living with HIV or AIDS manage their diagnosis and any other needs in order to live healthy and empowered lives.

Provides telehealth individual, couples, and family therapy, mental health evaluations, and psychiatric medication management for anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, behavior problems, relationship problems, personality disorders, and chronic mental illness.

Provides accurate information on adoption, and lifelong support, so the family is successful in meeting the child’s best interest by offering the following services and resources:

Provides free and confidential pregnancy counseling for families, every step of the way; before, during, and after the birth of the child.

Assistance with making an adoption plan or parenting plan.

Parenting education. Support and education for baby's father on request.

Home studies for prospective adoptive parents.

Newborn care home for baby as a safe haven.

Provides primary Health Care for agricultural workers and members of their households. Includes well women exams, chronic disease management, physical check-ups, and referrals.

Provides a comprehensive child development program which serve children from birth to age five, pregnant women and their families. The program is child-focused and has the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Provides free tax credit clinics and prepares free federal and state income taxes for low to moderate income households.

When scheduling an appointment, choose a site location and date. All location will be face-to-face; virtual preparation is available in addition to facilitated self-assistance (schedule an appointment under the 'Need Assistance' tab).

If Lincoln Public School and/or UNL is closed due to bad weather, all VITA sites are closed.

The scope of work that can be done within the VITA site is defined by the IRS. If a return is considered "out of scope" for the site, VITA Volunteers will not be able to prepare the return.

Provides the Unemployment Compensation Insurance programs and assists with questions regarding and applications for unemployment compensation, and provide resources for those seeking employment and retraining information.

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Persons applying must meet 200% poverty guidelines.

LIHEAP also offers a crisis program that may be able to assist homeowners who are with no heat or limited heat during the off months of the LIHEAP program (May-September). The furnace component for crisis runs October 1-April 30th.

Provides law enforcement services to the residents of Parkersburg, including operating a telephone response service staffed by trained personnel who assess requests for emergency assistance and dispatch the appropriate emergency response agency as needed.
